Schneider has an immediate need for an experienced Division Manager. The Division Manager will have ownership of operations, customer relationships, recruiting and safety within a specific geographic region. This will include hiring and developing regional staff, recruiting and retaining driving associates, and growing our regional business aggressively and profitably. This includes full P&L responsibility and leading our revenue growth within the region. In addition this person will develop a strategic and tactical plan to meet growth and profitability objectives.
Duties and responsibilities to include but not limited to:
Develop business goals and action plan to promote profitable growth within a given region. Facilitate actions to improve performance and drive business transformation.
Understand and control cost structure within the regional operation to ensure a high level of profitability. Set measurable goals for operations, sales, recruiting, safety and all aspects of running a successful business.
Drive accountability for improvement and positive change based upon business objectives and desire to grow the region. Coach and develop managers and administrative associates to execute based upon the strategic plan.
Develop a balanced approach that promotes tractor utilization, safety, service and driver success. Mentor others within the organization to promote and pursue a deeper level of transportation excellence.
Responsible for implementing new methods of managing/dispatching drivers in the field, servicing regional accounts, recruiting drivers at the local level and taking full ownership of the regional marketplace.
Work with regional sales force to support the service and growth of new and existing accounts.
Develop a recruiting plan with the regional recruiting manager to attract, hire and retain experienced drivers located within a specific region.
Identify, hire, mentor and develop managers within all areas of the transportation business which could include operations, sales, driver recruiting, and safety. Lead the professional development of all associates within the region.
Customarily and regularly direct the work of two or more associates.
Exercise authority to hire and discharge associates; make suggestions and recommendations as to advancement, promotion or any other change of status of other associates within the department.
Allocate, supervise and distribute work amongst team members. Execute established leadership processes.
Provide training to team members on department policies, procedures and processes.
Receive and respond to team member's complaints and/or concerns.
Maintain confidentiality of information.
Create and sustain a high performance environment through your leadership processes and actions.

Our preferred candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of transportation experience
Successful track record as an empowering leader in a dynamic, fast-paced, hands-on environment
Solid judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills. Emphasis on making the best overall decision based on cost, customer expectations, and driver needs
Emotional maturity and conflict management skills
Disciplined planning and organizing skills
Financial/key factor levers and concepts expertise
P&L experience preferred, but not required
Ability to effectively handle ambiguity and change
Ability to communicate and listen effectively with people of diverse opinions and backgrounds
Demonstrated knowledge of continuous improvement methods and desire to lead the integration of them into operational processes and/or activities
Ability to function in a high-stress environment
Travel Expectation: 10 to 20%
