Description of Work
As the Division Facilities Coordinator, this position will supervise private contractors and vendors as they perform maintenance to buildings to make sure they meet all requirements of the specifications, which includes Federal and State electrical and construction codes. Will perform highly skilled work in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, related equipment, plumbing, heating/cooling, and electrical systems for the facilities in the Division. Coordinate with Facilities Management on new construction and facility upgrades. Serve as the Division contact for the State Fire Marshall and facilitate all necessary repairs to meet code requirements.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Applicants must submit an application that clearly reflects work experience that demonstrates the following:
Experience in general carpentry, plumbing and electrical work
Working knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and materials used in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment and machinery
Experience in evaluating and interpreting contracts, plans, standards and specifications while applying engineering judgment to make appropriate field decisions
Experience reading and interpreting building codes
Working knowledge of the operation of the common types of hand tools and wood working power equipment in a safe and productive way

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Necessary Special Qualification May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.
