Robert Half has the role for you! Our distribution client is seeking a Division Controller to join their team in Seattle, WA! An ideal Division Controller will come equipped CPA, and have extensive experience with QuickBooks or other related software.

Cost accounting or supply chain, and inventory experience will serve a candidate well! This is a very hands on role, so task management and prioritizing are essential! Here's what you'll do: ? Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, payroll, Inventory Accounting and Budgeting. ? Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances. ? Prepare and publish timely monthly executive reporting package that includes actual vs budget income statement, balance sheet, operational reports, and commentary on business results. ? Manage the monthly close process, working cross-functionally with other teams to ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. ? Ensure quality control over inventory, supply chain, financial transactions and financial reporting. ? Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. ? Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. ? Research technical accounting issues for compliance. ? Assist with preparing revenue/demand forecasts based on distribution and promotional programs. ? Prepare subsidiary financial statements including all note disclosure in accordance with USGAAP. ? Execute store and production facility inventories at year end and throughout the year. ? Other related duties and tasks as assigned, including special projects as they arise.

Here's what to bring: ? Fully experience in CPA. ? Public company experience, ideally in US GAAP. ? Experience in consolidation, tax, and financial reporting. ? Experience implementing and maintaining ERP systems. ? Strong analytical skills, and deep experience with Microsoft Excel. ? The Center has recently established crosscutting integrated research centers organized to promote team science involving members from two or more of the scientific divisions. Overview The Division Administrator is the administrative partner for the Division Director and Senior Vice President and oversees administrative services of the Basic Sciences Division. Areas of broad responsibility include directing administration and operations, budget development and management, personnel management, divisional shared resources, space planning, pre- and post-award grants management activities, and facilitating staffing support to Division faculty. The Division Administrator is the key representative for the Division, for senior administrative decisions and policy development. The Division Administrator works with the Division Director and often a faculty executive leadership team to facilitate strategic planning and other Division-wide initiatives. The Division Administrator reports directly to the Division Director and Senior Vice President. Responsibilities * Manage the general administration of the Division and its research programs. Serve as the liaison between research scientists and administration to support the Division and Center * Supervise Associate Operations Director, Research Administrators, Division administration and IT staff, manage professional development, performance and ensure mentoring is in place * Oversee the preparation, management and monitoring of the Division's annual budget and the pre-award process and post-award management of grant and contracts awards to support the work of faculty and staff * Oversee the strategy, build-up and maintenance of the administrative staffing support model for faculty, serving as the authority on staffing level determinations * Assist the Division Director to create systems to ensure that faculty receive appropriate reviews. Responsible for administrative aspects of faculty recruitment and appointment * Assist the Division Director in managing office and lab space allocation * Support the Division Director in division-wide planning and major equipment acquisitions and new initiatives; responsible for long-range financial planning * Support the Division Director in developing the Division strategic plans; oversee the developing of Division operational and business plans * Oversee the Division's personnel and payroll functions: annual staff performance appraisals, employment requisitions and personnel actions, classification reviews, disciplinary actions, and staff training and development planning * Represent and advocate for Division interests via administrative partnership meetings and administrative committees, delegating as necessary * Represent scientific Divisions on search committees for open leadership positions as needed * Provide advice and support to faculty, staff and other Center administrative and leadership groups as requested * Support the development of effective scientific collaborations associated with assigned projects, particularly those involving outside entities and the consortium Qualifications Required * A bachelor's degree is required * A minimum of five years of progressively responsible administrative management experience, including grant and contract budgeting; supervision; and planning in a health care, research, biotech or governmental agency environment is required * Knowledge and high-level experience in research administration, strategic planning and business practices are necessary * The ability to manage a diverse team, think creatively and globally, project future needs, and be attuned to the day-to-day division operations is critical to success in this position * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential to this position * The successful candidate will promote scientific excellence and be responsive to the needs of the Division and Center mission.
