Job Description

With general direction, utilizing an understanding of accounting principles, the Division Accountant performs accounting activities to record, analyze and monitor financial information. The Division Accountant prepares financial reports in a manner that ensures accuracy and compliance with company accounting policies. The Division Accountant may act as a resource for accounting and general administrative staff and is responsible for a broad array of accounting duties.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • A thorough knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP).

  • Have MS Excel skills at an intermediate level.

  • Must be able to demonstrate initiative to thoughtfully and fully research and follow up on non-standard situations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

  • Effective and professional interpersonal communication across various levels of the organization and with external customers and vendors.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to complete projects and assignments with minimal supervision.

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work effectively, cooperatively and efficiently within a team environment.

  • Experience with general ledger software and other programs consistently used in industry.

  • Experience with Lawson accounting software and other programs consistently used in industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Accounting experience.
  • MBA and/or CPA designation.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries and document business transactions. Prepares monthly and quarterly operational performance reports. In doing so, utilizes discretion and judgment as to matters of significance.

  • Assists the Division Controller in ensuring there are proper internal controls in place including compliance with company policies and procedures, Sarbanes Oxley and all other statutory requirements. In doing so, utilizes discretion and judgment as to matters of significance.

  • Reconciles balance sheet accounts and statistical data and fully analyses financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policy.

  • May assist the Division Controller in the management of accounting personnel. May provide direction to the different accounting functional areas (invoice processing, billing, cash receipts, work order processing, credit analysis, receivable collections, month-end close, journal entries, statistical data, and payroll).

  • Supports the Division Controller during the annual budget and interim forecasting process and assists with analytical review.

  • Supports the accounting aspects of capital expenditures, transfers and retirements.

  • Assists with periodic financial audits including internal audits, external audits and peer reviews.

  • Provides support and responds to information requests from corporate (accounting, tax, treasury, IT, HR, sales, environmental compliance, legal, etc.) as well as region and area field financial management as required.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or closely related field of study.

Founded in 1980, Inmar is headquartered in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with more than 4,200 employees in the United States, Mexico and Canada Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Financial Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the day to day functioning of the Corporate Network accounting. Primary responsibilities include the preparation of assigned corporate month end closing activities, preparation of both internal and external financial reporting packages, and supporting the coordination and preparation of the external financial audit. This position requires that the Associate be able to work independently and also as a member of a team. In fact, the Associate must work very collaboratively with other members of the Corporate Staff, various cost center managers throughout the organization, and the Finance Groups of the various operating units serving as a financial partner. This position is located in our Winston Salem, NC state of the art headquarters. MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITES * Assist with the Corporate network month-end financial close process including the preparation and posting of journal entries, the preparation of month end accruals and the preparation of general ledger account reconciliations. * Evaluate and interpret monthly profit and loss income statements in order to analyze profitability of business units and help ensure all monthly journal entries have been properly posted. * Ensure assigned balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly in a complete and timely manner. * Responsible for preparation of the budget and all periodic reforecasts for Inmar Corporate. This includes meeting with all Inmar corporate cost center managers to provide financial support in developing the budget/forecasts. * Support the external financial audit and maintain audit readiness for all areas managed: * Prepare, communicate and monitor client assistance checklist. * Prepare audit schedules as required for corporate networks or complex schedules. * Review schedules for accuracy and reasonableness before providing to the auditors. * Communicate and escalate audit issues as appropriate. * Research, interpret, and communicate appropriate accounting policies for complex accounting transactions. * Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual internal and external financial reporting packages: * Responsible for Corporate Network monthly review and reporting results to leadership * Prepare the BOD and monthly leadership team packages, including collaboration with the business unit finance groups and FP&A department * Assist in preparation of the quarterly unaudited financial statements for the bank reporting packages * Assist in drafting the annual audited financial statements * Support all business unit Finance personnel in managing balance sheet accountability, as well as support them in the monthly closing ad hoc reporting processes * Provide assistance on special projects and requests as assigned.
