The Diversity & Inclusion Specialist plans and produces technically sound communications projects, campaigns and events that support and align with 3M's Diversity & Inclusion strategy. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of large, more complicated corporate, national, and international programs, such as Global Inclusion Day, International Women's Day, the "Different minds inspire" campaign, and ERN events.
Applies business acumen, contributes creative ideas and collaborates cross-functionally to execute all aspects of department-sponsored communications and events. Manages D&I content on internal sites and social media, coordinates with external vendors and contributors, and maintains department budget.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Project Management/Execution. Under limited supervision, recommends and utilizes internal and external resources to plan and produce communications projects. Prepares accurate estimates of costs, milestones, and resources prior to initiating projects. Monitors and makes adjustments to project plans, as required. Produces deliverables consistent with plan objectives and strategies, incorporating the knowledge and input of functional experts. Reviews and selects appropriate contracted suppliers for project implementation. Monitors activities of the supplier to meet expectations. Manages logistical arrangements when programs are in progress. (65%)
2.Planning. Plans and produces communications projects and campaigns of increasing complexity that support D&I strategies, organizational plans and 3M's reputation and brand. Proactively recommends plan modifications to clients. Measures, analyzes, and reports project and campaign results. Maintains department budget. (25%)
3.Leadership. Initiates actions and leads project teams to design, develop, and implement projects or processes. Identifies and recommends process modifications, as appropriate. Leads implementation of changes. Takes ownership for resolution of communications issues for assigned projects. Provides assistance and guidance to co-workers, team members and suppliers, while delegating more routine tasks. Actively participates on corporate and communications community teams. (10%)
Possess a Bachelor's degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
Minimum of four (4) years of Events Management, Project Management, and/or Communications experience in a private, public, government, or military environment
Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations
Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
Technology acumen and expertise, including Microsoft Office and SharePoint applications.
Budget management experience.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines.

Travel: May include up to 5% domestic travel
