OVERVIEW

This individual will report to the Associate Director of Diversity and Inclusion. The Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator will work closely with a team of professionals to implement the firm's diversity and inclusion goals. The Coordinator role is a non-exempt position based in Chicago and serves all offices.

The work schedule for this position is 8:45 am to 5:15 pm (Monday-Friday), with additional hours as required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Coordinate sponsorships, including but not limited to: on campus outreach, check requests, ad design, logo submission, invitations, track attendees and assemble/ship materials for events

  • Respond to diversity surveys, RFPs and other diversity related requests as needed

  • Provide support to the Diversity and Inclusion ("D&I) Committee, Associate Board of the D&I Committee and the firm's affinity groups

  • Work with vendors to select swag and maintain inventory database for giveaways

  • Coordinate both internal and external events, including venue selection, logistics, and follow up

  • Compile and draft content for newsletters, ads, and event recaps

  • Maintain regular updates for intranet and the firm website's D&I pages

  • Update and maintain departmental and intranet calendars

  • Update calendar with all D&I Events and activities

  • Coordinate other department tasks, which vary widely in level of complexity

QUALIFICATIONS

The successful applicant will demonstrate an ability to produce excellent work product while balancing numerous competing priorities and stakeholders within and outside the firm.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent work experience

  • Law firm or professional services organization experience preferred; experience in a diversity & inclusion role is a plus

  • Able to work with a team of highly-skilled professionals in situations requiring diplomacy and confidentiality

  • Able to work well independently in a fast past environment

  • Able to maintain a good rapport with various personnel at all levels

  • Knowledge of D&I best practices is a plus

  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite

  • Possess project management skills, sound business judgment and be able to multi-task

  • Must be detailed oriented and a critical thinker

  • Possess excellent organizational, communication and phone skills
