The Diversity and Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing our customer-facing diversity programs for our California markets. Your focus will be to increase and strengthen Skanska/MWESB relationships through the coordination and delivery of technical assistance, training, and information. The successful candidate will balance their attention to detail and natural influencing ability to support our regional D&I efforts.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for the implementation of Skanska's subcontractor diversity program in California (Northern and Southern).
Actively promote employee awareness of and engagement with the D&I Program.
Provide input and direction to Operations regarding the level of first- and second-tier Diversity participation on all projects to achieve customer goals.
In conjunction with Purchasing, manage the submission of Diversity Utilization Plans by prime subcontractors as part of their contract.
Collaborate with estimating and purchasing departments both during preconstruction and during project buyout to increase bid opportunities for qualified diversity certified businesses. Obtain feedback with regard to bid responsiveness.
Provide information for proposals and participate in sales presentations for potential projects.
Assist MWESBs with the Skanska subcontractor prequalification process.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify potential minority and women business enterprises and evaluate their qualifications to successfully compete for contracts. Facilitate introductions between majority subcontractors and minority subcontractors.
Establish and direct a process to ensure that the business unit directory of potential certified firms is compiled, distributed and updated on a regular basis.
Facilitate internal audits and reporting systems to measure the effectiveness of programs.
Manage compliance with Diversity reporting requirements.
Actively engage with ethnic contracting associations, community based organizations and advocacy groups to facilitate the participation of their members on construction projects or in special programs.
Provide guidance to customers to assist in the development of their Diversity programs as they relate to our projects or potential projects.
KEY SKILLS & ABILITIES

Manager of Time: Able to effectively manage time to prioritize and balance the support of short-duration and long term assignments across geographic region
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in the construction industry, ideally within the California metro areas; additional experience in developing vendor management programs a plus.
2+ years of experience supporting MWSEB Diversity programs, ideally in program development and/or outreach
Working knowledge of agreements with vendors and suppliers
Ability to travel up to 25%
