QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or USA equivalency.

  • Two years of office experience with a focus on recordkeeping.

  • Experience in maintenance of student records in a public school environment preferred.

  • Typing skills of 40 words per minute.

  • Computerized record keeping experience, preferably as a secondary school data controller.

  • Oversee issuance of admit and tardy cards, as well as excuses for students leaving school.

  • Ensure the maintenance of adequate and accurate student records with regard to home address, telephone number, and attendance.

BASIC FUNCTIONS

  • Oversee proper reporting and recordkeeping related to student attendance and enrollment including transfers, withdrawals, statistical reports, and census cards.

  • Ensure students, parents, and others who visit the office receive proper assistance in matters relating to enrollment, transfer, attendance, etc.

  • Oversee issuance of admit and tardy cards, as well as excuses for students leaving school.

  • Ensure the maintenance of adequate and accurate student records with regard to home address, telephone number, and attendance.

  • Oversees and ensures all students have complete cum record folders, including obtaining transcripts and other records on students who are new to the district.

  • Serves as the official record keeper for the campus.

  • Interface with other school districts concerning student transfer records.

  • Plan and schedule tasks, taking into consideration school priorities and the departmental calendar.

  • Understand and correctly use computer for systems supported including data transmission, student database inquiry, printed products, and attendance.

  • Request, send and maintain student cumulative records using TREx.

  • Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.

All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate.

Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines. Previous experience in an approved (Cancer Program) tumor registry preferred. Certified Tumor Registrar required. Job Duties Abstracting: Identify analytic & nonanalytic cases within 6 months of diagnosis & collects data as outlined in the FORDS manual, current State Cancer Registry Handbook and any information required by Cancer Committee Members. Abstracts a minimum of 6 abstracts per day (1abst/1.15hr). Minimum of 35 cases completed per week for remote abstractors. Maintains a 95% accuracy rate in abstracting, suspensing, and case finding as required by the Cancer Committee Performance Improvement Plan. Follow-up: Identifies information necessary for a completed follow-up. Maintains follow-up according to ACoS Standards. Able to demonstrate/obtain follow-up information via telephone calls, internet, Oacis, and Siemens to assist in follow-up. Performs data entry of information obtained in the follow-up process. Staging Forms: Identifies cases eligible for staging. Able to place the proper staging form in the medical record. Identify physician responsible for completing the staging form. Prepares Charts for physician review. Assist physicians during QA review. Peer Review: Registrar is able to review other registrar's abstract. Gives and receives constructive criticism. Attend at least one state, local, regional or national meeting annually to be in compliance with ACOS. Other duties as assigned by the Cancer Registry Manager. Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
