Role Description

As a member of the Palo Alto Networks sales leadership team you will report to the Regional Vice President of Sales for the Northeast Region and lead a team of Major Account Managers covering Northern Va, Md, DE, and Southeastern Pa. You will be responsible for building and driving the District Majors sales teams to exceed company objectives and grow the district according to plan. You will be responsible for managing the Majors sales team on a day-to-day basis including- pipeline review, Demand Gen review, Channel Review, and overall performance management of the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Hire and expand the district to scale with the company growth and objectives.

  • Palo Alto Networks has chosen to go to market with Security Focused Channel partners; you will be responsible for collaborating with key channel partners and ensuring and that they become proficient in soliciting the Palo Alto solution

  • Participate in quarterly review sessions with the key partners in the region

  • Have a direct involvement and influence in top opportunities, focusing sales efforts on large key accounts with the sales team.

  • District travel is required

Qualifications:

  • Practical knowledge of routing and switching products that will be installed adjacent to the Palo Alto Networks appliances

  • Deep understanding of how to build a district in a fast growing dynamic environment, leveraging the channel community and creating a culture within the region that supports the objectives of the Company.

  • Ideal candidates will have prior experience selling and managing sales teams in network infrastructure based security appliances including but not limited to: Firewalls, SSL/IPSec VPNs, Security Proxies and Caches.

  • BS technical degree or equivalent

  • 10+ years of above quota sales experience, and 5 years of Sales Management experience

  • Self-motivated

  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills, both internally and externally

  • Enterprise sales experience with a strong network of in district decision makers

  • Superb organizational skills

  • "Whatever it takes" attitude and motivation to deliver above quota performance

  • Experience working with Channel partners and understanding of a channel centric go to market approach

This role will work effectively at various customer levels to educate, justify, and successfully sell customized irrigation systems to new and existing golf courses. District Sales Managers work independently within a geographic territory and are measured on revenue production and market share improvement. Responsibilities What you will do: * Work at high management and ownership levels within a golf course to outline Rain Bird's complete capabilities to decision makers. * You are a "solution-based" sales representative, capable of analyzing irrigation designs, Rain Bird products, finance options, and after-the-sales technical support packages to golf course owners, greens committees, consultants, contractors, developers, and superintendents. * You will work with independent distributors and Rain Bird Regional Manager to develop sales plans and strategies that ensure proper sales coverage and sales effectiveness across all territories within the assigned district. * Coordination and contact with the Regional Manager, Specification Managers, and National Account Manager in the identification and support of customers who represent the greatest areas of opportunity. Assist the Regional Manager in the development and training of distributor personnel so that the distributors can recognize needs and promote Rain Bird products in the golf irrigation system proposals. Qualifications Who you are: A sound presenter, results-oriented and highly self-motivated professional who, * Hold a BA or BS Degree * Have 3-5 years successful sales or territory sales management * Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills * Have ability to achieve results individually and through others * Software savvy * Live in the Northeast and enjoy traveling up to 75% of your time.
