Job Summary

  • Identify talent, developing capabilities and leadership in others, building a high performing and high potential team

  • Provide leadership, motivate team performance, execute corporate directives and develop strategies to maximize people development

  • Coach and set sales targets for Sales Account Managers

  • Travel approximately 50% of time or as required to manage the needs of district

  • Ensure maximum sales coverage with resources available to achieve peak performance; put metrics in place to measure success over time

  • Allocate territories to appropriate sales executives

  • Report performance and sales results to appropriate management

  • Responsible for account management

  • Collaborate with other District Sales Managers to ensure sales goals are achieved

  • Maintain detailed knowledge of the company's service package & operational capabilities

  • Stay aware of competitor activity

  • Responsible for all hiring, employee counseling, training and terminations: assuring they are processed according to proper guidelines

  • Regular attendance is required

  • Bachelor's Degree or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background; Master's Degree a plus

  • Minimum of one to three years of experience in the LTL industry required

  • Minimum of two years experience in management, preferably Sales Management

  • Previous sales and sales management experience

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation skills; team oriented; conceptual/consultative sales skills

  • Strong people management skills

  • Strong strategic planner

  • Must possess excellent communication skills and problem solving skills

  • Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct

  • Must be able to interact well with others

  • Must be able to work independently, or in a team setting

  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high volume environment with multiple priorities .

  • Must be able to lift approximately 10-15 lbs., or more if required by the essential functions of the job

  • Responds well to questions; Ability to read, interpret and comply with written information and documents such as safety rules, operations / procedure manuals and maintenance instructions with a high comprehension and concentration level to include the ability to meet deadlines

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
