Ashfield Healthcare has a long-standing partnership with Genentech, a leading Biotechnology company, across Commercial, Patient Solutions and Medical Affairs businesses. We are going into our third season promoting XOFLUZA, an innovative, one-dose antiviral medicine.

We are seeking performance-driven, competitive, analytical Sales Leaders who are willing to put forth discretionary effort and execute on strategy to ensure their district is achieving sales results and KPIs and is meeting and exceeding expectations. This is a highly innovative role requiring you to lead by example to drive district performance, think outside of the box and continually challenge your team to go the extra mile.

What will you be doing during active Flu Season?

  • Recruit, interview, and hire qualified sales professionals desirous of seasonal opportunity.

  • Lead Influenza Specialists to exceed sales goals and achieve execution of goals on targets.

  • Drive sense of urgency amongst Influenza Specialists beginning day one and throughout the duration of the season.

  • Leverage sales and execution data to coach team, maximize efficiency.

  • Gain understanding and mastery of data systems; determine best use of each dataset based on IS and market place needs.

  • Collaborate, solicit feedback, and share best practices with fellow District Managers.

  • Work in partnership with Genentech Marketing Team for messaging and resources as well as with local Genentech Field Teams to drive success in local systems, payers, providers, and more.

  • Take on individual key account responsibilities in addition to delegating efforts to qualified Influenza Specialists.

  • Take initiative to be solutions-orientated and consistently look across the district to identify opportunities to drive results and remove barriers.

  • Effectively navigate feedback from team members and continue to motivate, drive solutions orientation and overcome challenges in order to keep Influenza Specialists focused and aligned on goals.

  • Accept, leverage, and adapt to feedback given and incorporate it in an appropriate way to advance performance of the team.

  • Create a culture where individuals are personally accountable and committed to achieving best results for both themselves and the team.

  • Consistently differentiate recognition and reward levels of team members according to their levels of performance, competency and preference.

  • Coach and manage through ambiguity and changing direction as necessary

  • Quickly identify and manage performance concerns with urgency.

  • Ensure business is conducted in a professional and compliant manner

What will you be doing during Off Season (summer)?

  • Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with local / regional HCP and Pharmacy advocates

  • Actively work to resolve barriers in dominant local systems and key accounts through individual initiative as well as collaboration with XOFLUZA and Genentech Field Teams

  • Work in partnership with Genentech Payer Team to improve payer coverage

  • Schedule Speaker Programs and Exhibits with key customers including Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, and Pediatric Associations

  • Staff National and Regional Exhibits

  • Maintain contact and ongoing communication with returning Influenza Specialist(s)

  • Assist in recruitment and hiring process for new District Manager(s) as well as actively recruit and screen potential Influenza Specialists for upcoming season(s)

  • Assist in mapping, headcount budgeting, and planning decisions for upcoming season(s)

  • Lead and/or participate in internal advisory panels for the development of data and marketing resources, training programs, and Influenza Specialist Hiring Plan

What do you need for this position?

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College or University or equivalent work related experience

  • At least 5 years of sales management experience within the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or Healthcare Industry is required with proven ability to develop and motivate others, lead through change, and deliver on set objectives.

  • Direct sell and service industry background preferred.

  • Experience launching a seasonal product is preferred.

  • Contract Sales experience preferred.

  • Experience working with pharmacies preferred.

  • Strong sense of urgency with positive solutions oriented approach.

  • Experience navigating local health systems strongly preferred, including novel approaches to access, formulary and coverage barriers.

  • Must have the technical proficiency to quickly navigate, prioritize and disseminate pertinent information available only to managers through various systems.

  • Proven ability to work efficiently in a team environment including best practice sharing and advice

  • Ability to recruit, retain, and develop a high quality team

  • Lead a team and reinforce strong account management skills - i.e., the ability to work an account to include health systems/urgent care centers/pharmacies to gain access and support pull through

  • Must consistently demonstrate sound judgment and strategic decision-making abilities

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills are also required and ability to analyze and draw appropriate conclusions using sales and call reporting data

  • Professional, proactive demeanor

  • Ability to interpret and utilize business data to drive positive business results

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build business relationships

  • Results-driven with exceptional attention-to-detail and knowledge around metrics

  • Overnight travel may be required (depending on geographical location)

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Computer/iPad advanced
