Under the primary direction of the Director of Safety and Training, the District Safety Trainer performs a wide range of activities related to safety training and training program administration. The position also assists branch personnel on safety training matters.
Responsibilities
Conducts classes and demonstrations to teach principles and proper operating techniques
Makes sales calls with Sales Representatives and individuals to identify customer training needs
Promotes training services to customers and works with them to facilitate training needs
Prepares training materials and classroom for class activities. Coordinate equipment for hands-on demonstrations and evaluations as needed
Utilizes Salesforce to record all sales activities, scheduling, and customer interactions
Provides weekly and monthly updates using the designated software for various metrics
Conducts product demonstrations and familiarization training for customer
Attends train-the-trainer courses, conferences, and seminars as determined by the Director of Safety and Training requiring periodic travel.
As training material updates are received/made, provide training materials to managers and/or employees and/or conduct training
Qualifications
Bachelor - Business-related field and/or relevant experience in lieu of a degree
Three (3) years of experience performing safety training or equipment safety operator training
Has attended or is able to attend a train the trainer course for safety-related topics offered by NTS
Three (3) years of sales experience preferred
Capabilities
Ability to analyze complex written documents
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, in a diverse range of audiences and settings
Ability to conduct cold calls and direct sales to customers
Computer competence and the ability to use media effectively
Effective questioning and feedback; assessing customer training needs, developing and/or improving training programs
Interpret legal documents and government regulations
Maintain order in an environment of changing priorities
Perform and evaluate instructional design analyses
Persuasion and negotiation of conflicts and problems
Able to use a variety of learning/training concepts and principles is required along with a knowledge of adult learning
Use solid project and time management to achieve objectives
Work long and irregular hours, and under high-pressure conditions
Ability to travel up to 70% within the designated region.
