Title: Plumbing/General maintenance Technician

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Graduate; demonstrates knowledge of Plumbing/general maintenance ; 10 years experience in the mentioned fields or alternative experience as acceptable to the Board; valid New Jersey driver's license; New Jersey Black Seal Boiler license Preferred or must be acquired within 24 months of hiring.

REPORTS TO: Director of facilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Responsible for identifying problems and making repairs to district Plumbing and heating equipment and providing training to maintenance workers in plumbing repairs.

2.Develops and maintains a preventive maintenance program on all district Boilers and related components.

3.Assists in the supervision of contracted services by outside contractors.

4.Develops and maintains an inventory of spare parts for equipment repairs.

5.Responsible for heating and Plumbing repairs as assigned

6.Performs general maintenance tasks as assigned

7.Supervises maintenance employees assigned to assist the technician.

8.Other duties as assigned by the Director of Buildings and Grounds.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 month work year

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the board's policy on evaluation of non certified staff.
