Job Duties

Provides mental health services to probationer/parolees including crisis intervention, screening and report writing, psychoeducational services, individual and group therapy, treatment planning, and re-entry planning under the supervision and direction of the Regional Mental Health Clinician. The selected applicant will be expected to work 29 hours during the regular workweek (Monday

  • Friday).

Screens, tracks, and monitors probationer/parolees with mental health services needs in coordination with assigned Probation or Parole Officers.

Provides consultation and training to Probation and Parole Staff.

This is a wage position limited to working no more than 1,500 hours per agency during the 12 month period of May 1 - April 30, regardless of the hire date. The wage employment period resets on May 1 of the following year.

All wage employees are limited to working no more than 29 hours per week on average over the 12-month period. This wage position offers no state benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Relevant professional experience in the provision of mental health services to a varied population

  • Training and experience in the treatment of mental disorders, the ability to develop intervention and treatment plans, and to provide individual and group counseling/therapy

  • Considerable working knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic nomenclature, psychological theory and ethical practices

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and to provide training to others

Additional Considerations

  • Advanced knowledge, skills, and training in Psychology (clinical or counseling), Social Work, or equivalent experience in related human services field

  • Experience in correctional, forensic, mental health or other institutional setting
