District McKinney-Vento Liaison, (1.0 FTE), Full-Time, Permanent, 2024-2025 School Year

This position will work 193 Days + 10 Planned Additional Days:

Five (5) Planned Additional Days prior to the beginning of the licensed contract

  • 8/26/2024 and five (5) Planned Additional Days after the end of the licensed contract

  • 6/16/2025.

This position also includes a $2,500 stipend for an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).

Position Summary:

The District McKinney-Vento Liaison is responsible for supporting the needs of the homeless, foster and delinquent student population and ensuring the delivery of mandated services to facilitate the student's attendance and access to appropriate education. The District McKinney-Vento Liaison assesses students and families; interprets laws relating to homeless, foster and delinquent students; works as a team member to develop intervention strategies; provides case management; monitors student progress; and makes referrals. Position also acts as a resource to school's district staff and conducts related training.

Job Group: Licensed Wage Placement Table

Salary:

  • Annual Salary Range (2024-2025): $55,988 - $106,155 (193-Day Contract). Initial placement based on education, experience.

  • This salary range reflects 1.0 FTE. Actual salary is prorated based on FTE and start date.

  • Stipend(s) are pro-rated based on 1.0 FTE and start/end dates of position/assignment.

  • As a licensed employee, you are eligible to receive:

  • A stipend of $2,500 if certified by NBPTS (National Board for Professional Teaching Standards).

  • A stipend of $3,000 if you hold a PhD or EdD.

Retirement Plan Contribution:

North Clackamas School District participates in the Oregon Public Employee Retirement System (PERS and OPSRP) on behalf of its employees. The district contributes the employer portion; there is also a mandatory employee portion. Upon eligibility, which is defined as working at least six full calendar months in a qualifying position, the employee is required to contribute 6% as their employee portion, via payroll deduction. Part-time employees working at least six months and 600 hours in a calendar year will qualify.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The District McKinney-Vento Liaison must have successful experience in working with culturally diverse families and communities, or have otherwise demonstrated a commitment to strengthening engagement of a diverse community and skill in communicating with a diverse population.

  • Must possess a Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) with some related experience providing services for school aged children; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that would provide the noted knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Must possess a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of school law as it relates to homeless students; intervention strategies; and referral sources.

  • Must possess excellent assessment, case management, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Must possess the ability to interpret homeless law; provide support activities for students and their families; and conduct training to staff.

  • Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and outside agencies.

  • Ability to interact with students, parents, staff, and community members, personally, telephonically, and through electronic communications, in a warm and confident manner.

  • Initiative and ability to follow directions and meet designated timelines.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all school and personnel matters.
