CubeSmart is currently seeking a District Manager. The District Manager is responsible and accountable for the business activity, strategic direction, and profitability of CubeSmart stores within a designated District.

Responsibilities

Responsible and accountable for all District Store activities and operations impacting Customers, Employees and the achievement of Company goals/ expectations through direct interaction and through the use of appropriate Company resources.

Responsible for meeting Company revenue goals by achieving or exceeding monthly budget expectations.

Directly responsible for in-depth knowledge of state specific foreclosure process and requirements.

Conducts quarterly facility audits to ensure physical and operational standards are being met.

Responsible for delivering the WOW! service model and personally interacting with Customers on a regular basis both over the phone and in person.

Directly oversees daily activities of employees and provides current, complete, positive and corrective feedback directly to employees.

Develops productive teams through leadership, job-relevant training, developmental experiences, feedback, and mentoring.

Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and hiring. Creates a climate in which employees want to do their best by leading and communicating a shared vision with employees and providing coaching and development.

Travels within the designated area to every Store and to other designated locations as directed by the Company to attend meetings and training sessions.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Four year Bachelor degree in business or related field preferred; two-year Associate's degree or equivalent experience required

  • Minimum of five (5) years multi-unit retail sales/service operations leadership experience, preferably in transferable industry such as Retail Sales, Hotel or Restaurant, Leasing, Travel, Car Rental, or Equipment Rental.

  • Proven ability to consistently meet and exceed performance standards

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and motivational skills

  • Proven ability to lead, develop and coach employees

  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities

  • Able to prioritize multiple projects and deal with numerous interruptions

  • Work well under pressure, meeting deadlines consistently

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Computer skills: Solid understanding of the Microsoft suite of products.

  • Travels within the District and to other designated locations as directed by the Company; travel is required by car and/or airplane.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Nature of work requires an ability to effectively communicate and exchange information; collect, compile and prepare work documents, and operate standard business office equipment. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, to climb up and down a ladder, maneuver around physical properties while performing various maintenance and inspection duties.

Ability to sit for extended periods of time at the designated work area and/or while traveling in a car, airplane or other means of transportation.

VIEW JOBS 3/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-13T00:00 Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Drive sales by delivering exceptional customer service per the Operations P&P Manual. * Successfully complete the DMIT Training Program to enhance core skill set (ie: recruiting, developing, coaching, leading and training). * Train store personnel on standard operating procedures as well as State and Federal laws and regulations. * Communicate consistently with store personnel to insure understanding and compliance with standard operating procedures. * Act as the liaison between the District Sales Manager and the stores under the DMIT's direction. * Take appropriate actions to insure each store maximizes sales, minimizes asset loss, and conforms to budgetary requirements. * Extensive travel(up to 90%) from store-to-store, within a given geographic area * Perform work of subordinates as needed. * Support and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines. * Communicate with employees at all levels of the company. * Ability and willingness to travel overnight for training and/or business meetings. * Ability to work varying days and hours, based on business needs. * Ability to maintain an excellent attendance record. * Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities * Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with LIDS policies, procedures, and applicable laws. * Supervise Store Managers through planning, assigning, and directing their overall functions. * Appraise subordinates on positive performance and assist with formal performance evaluations. * Recruit, select, develop, and train store personnel on proper store operations and procedures. * Administer the progressive steps of discipline to include verbal and written warnings. In addition, the DMIT carries out employment terminations following approval from Human Resources and DSM. * Direct compliance of store personnel with established company policies, procedures and guidelines including, but not limited to, safekeeping of company inventory, funds and property. * Address complaints and problem solve when appropriate with the assistance of the DSM and or RD. Requirements Education and/or Experience * Four year degree in business or a related field and one year relevant experience or; two year degree in a related field and at least two years of relevant experience or; three years of relevant experience. * Proven supervisory skills * Proven ability to perform independently with minimal supervision * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate verbally in a clear, audible, and grammatically correct manner. * Ability to operate a computer, as well as maneuver relative software programs. * Posses a current valid driver's license, certificate of insurance coverage and the ability to drive an automobile. * Driving required for up to 100% of the daily work schedule. * Standing required for up to 90% of the daily work schedule. * Relative computer hardware and software experience. * Ability and willingness to travel overnight for training and/or business meetings.
