The District Manager identifies customer and operational needs in his/her respective stores by recruiting store staff, supporting the development and well-being of store teams, and ensuring the implementation of projects. This includes the implementation and fulfillment of the Lidl store standards and concepts.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee management and associate teams for 3-5 stores

  • Ensure freshness, availability and customer service standards are always met

  • Motivate employees and create a results-focused working environment

  • Ensure a high level of productivity by implementing efficient and effective work practices

  • Coordinate, implement and monitor new standards and projects within the district

  • Drive business results and hold teams accountable for KPIs and meeting targets

  • Manage performance through coaching and development

  • Manage staffing, onboarding, training, and appraisals for store management

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient store operations

  • Ensure continuous store compliance on company policies and procedures

  • Perform other duties as assigned (project work, concept implementation, training, etc.)


Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to lead and manage large teams effectively

  • Knowledge of store processes and procedures

  • Ability to recruit, train, develop, and motivate talented team members

  • Ability to hold teams accountable and performance manage when required

  • Ability to understand and influence KPI's

  • Ability to communicate effectively with Regional and HQ leadership

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to business needs

Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience

  • BA/BS degree

  • Experience in a leadership program/position preferred

Physical Job Requirements

  • This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position (standing and/or seated) more than half of the time

  • The person in this position must be able to maneuver (lift, move, carry, slide, etc.) 15-40 lbs.

Travel Requirements

  • This position commutes between regional offices/stores/distribution centers 50 75% of the time within a day

  • Anticipated travel will be by car, air, and/or train

  • Must be flexible to travel overnight and stay in hotels for longer periods of time

  • Flexibility to relocate along with Lidl US expansion

  • Domestic relocation will be provided, if qualified

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES As a Sales Associate, you will join the Belk family, report directly to the Sales Team Manager, and be responsible for: Providing Excellent Customer Service: * Proactively greeting and engaging customers warmly and with a smile. * Supporting the store to meet or exceed its customer service goals. * Handling each customer transaction in a professional and friendly manner. * Thanking each customer by name following a purchase. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS Position Requirements: Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings & weekends, due to shift rotation. Other requirements around education and physicality include: Education & Experience: * No education requirement. * Experience in retail preferred. * Excellent communication skills. * Ability to use and learn industry technology preferred.
