District Inventory Manager

Responsible for the proper availability of inventory in a specific geographic area or a specific commodity. This is a critical support function to the success of our selling locations. This role must be an integral part of a particular region's team or the corporate team. The right candidate is a strong team player, analytical, detailed oriented and service oriented towards our field sales locations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Inventory Replenishment (i.e. responsible for setting suggested purchase order parameters and their periodic review and update, transfer product amongst selling locations, review stock outs, review low inventory items, optimize vendor's Early Buy programs, reduce slow moving and obsolete inventory).

• SKU Maintenance (i.e. price, activation, lead time, stock status, usage, order quantities (i.e. case, pallet), item replacement).

• Expediting (i.e. review back order reports, review open purchase order reports, review acknowledgments, update delivery date and/or price when appropriate, communicate lead time changes to the selling locations).

• In-bound Freight (i.e. optimize vendor's pre-paid programs, transfer appropriate quantities, to the next logical location, obtain freight quotes).

• Invoice Discrepancies (i.e. reconcile discrepancies with accounts payable and vendor, notify Sourcing of vendor/price issues).

• Customer Service (i.e. special orders, execute special buys/offers, assist in new branch openings).

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

• Strong analytical skills

• Strong communications skills

• Experience in Agility Software a plus

• Detailed oriented

• Team player

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 4-year college degree preferred.

REPORTS TO: Director - Inventory Management, Purchasing Manager

INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: Sourcing Managers, Regional Sales Personnel

EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS: Inventory Vendors

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 2-3 days 2 weeks a month (20-30%)

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Home office capable or office in branch location in region
