Responsibilities

We currently have a great opportunity available for a Distributor Manager - Flow Cytometry. This role is responsible for industrial flow cytometry sales Latin America, Canada and US Markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Have primary sales responsibility for Industrial Microbiology/Flow Cytometry applications across Sysmex America, Inc. spanning Canada and USA territories. This role will include direct sales responsibilities for customers in Canada and US as well as distributor sales responsibilities.2 Act as the liaison for distributors in the development of a business strategy for the Sysmex industrial microbiology/flow product line.3 Bring practical insights to customers by leveraging industry expertise to position the value of the Sysmex industrial microbiology/flow portfolio. 4 Work closely with the Sysmex Corporation team members worldwide to develop opportunities for industrial microbiology/flow across Canada and USA territories. Target markets include Genomic Analysis (Ploidy and Genome Sizing analysis) and Beverage QA (Wine, Beer and Spirits) with Business Development activities in Wastewater Treatment.5 Drive for key growth metrics including revenue growth, key reference site development, sales demonstrations and follow-on opportunity closing activities. 6 Utilize and maintain MS Dynamics CRM to manage on-going opportunities within existing customer base, while prospecting for new customers, thus providing clear forecasting and pipeline development. 7 Work closely with the industrial microbiology/flow marketing and support team.8 Support national conference exhibitions and host exhibitions as appropriate to target customer audience.9 Travel regularly throughout Canada and USA territories to develop sales opportunities, ensure high levels of customer service and retention of key customers.10 Other duties as assigned.

Travel: 50%

Physical Risk: Regular exposure to risk that may require alertness, but with minimal precautions.

Physical Demands: Light physical effort. Routine handling of objects up to 20 pounds; prolonged (at least 50% of time) sitting, standing, keyboard or CRT work. May require periods of moderate discomfort due to noise, dust, lighting and/or other conditions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or Chemical Engineering preferred. 5-10 years of previous experience in industrial flow cytometry or microbiology sales required. Master's degree is desirable.

  • Strong business acumen with a microbiology focus and industry expertise in Beverage Production (specifically Wine, Beer and/or Spirits).

  • Bilingual, English and French preferred.

  • MS Office, including moderate to advanced PowerPoint and Excel. Must be knowledgeable in the use of MS Dynamics 365 or similar CRM platforms.

  • Industry expertise in wastewater and agricultural technology preferred

  • Exceptional communication skills with excellent written and oral presentation capabilities.

  • Excellent influencing skills, and the ability to deal directly with professional and managerial levels customers.

  • Ability to solve complex problems by bringing together the right people into a structured process.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Open to building a new business with varying levels of structure.
