Distribution Supervisors must thrive in a challenging and dynamic Distribution Center environment. This position will focus on leading a team of partners, coaching, and motivating them to support our customers while meeting goals and making sure all operating policies and procedures are followed.

The Distribution Supervisor is vital in leading the efforts of our distribution teams. Duties include planning, organizing, training, coaching, compliance with various customers, company, government requirements and guidelines. Our Distribution Supervisor will build a depth of knowledge and expertise within our Shippensburg, Pennsylvania distribution center (PDC). PDC is an automated facility using ASRS technology for storage and movement of product. The distribution center is responsible for fulfilling customer orders and shipments as well as supporting the production plant with materials.

What you'll do:

The Distribution Supervisor position has these main areas of focus: Leadership, Distribution Operations, customer satisfaction and Regulatory/Customer compliance.

  • Work with the team to make sure that daily shipping/receiving is organized to maximize efficiencies, making necessary adjustments as conditions change.

  • Together with the leadership team, ensures compliance with Food Safety and Food Quality Plans, in addition to customer requirements. Interprets and communicates customer requirements to groups.

  • Must encourage teamwork and compliance with Plant/DC policies and procedures.

  • Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices and good housekeeping guidelines.

  • Must follow safety guidelines, wear designated Personal Protective Equipment, and meet OSHA safety requirements.

  • Ensure partner accountability and provide daily communication of essential information.

  • Lead team efforts in meeting or exceeding goals in productivity, quality, and safety. Monitor track and hold Partners accountable to developed work standards.

  • Through the use of problem-solving methods, and other quality tools identify and make process improvements.

  • Plan distribution operations, establish priorities and monitor progress to meet customer needs.

  • Resolve operational opportunities to maximize efficiencies at the lowest cost.

  • Monitor training activities and ensure proper training paperwork is completed.

  • Assist with staffing to ensure decisions relating to the shipping/receiving schedule meet customer requirements.

  • Be knowledgeable of various government regulations that must be complied with, i.e., OSHA, USDA, FDA, EPA, EEOC, OFCCP, etc.

  • Make decisions related to HACCP, product quality, HOLD & RELEASE, etc.

  • Assist with regulatory, customer, and internal audits.

  • Follow reaction plans for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement deviations.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • High School diploma or GED required. (College degree not required).

  • Future relocation is required for promotional opportunities.

  • Must be able to work the following shift: 5:00am - 5:00pm; Week 1: 36 hours, Week 2: 48 hours

  • 5+ years leadership experience in a distribution environment preferred.

  • Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Gain and maintain an understanding of all equipment and computer systems.

  • Willing and able to manage multiple priorities.

  • Goal oriented.
