Distribution Supervisor

About the role:

The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of material and distribution activities. These activities includes but is not limited in leading and coaching warehouse associates, supporting development and communication of department goals and providing insight in department budgeting.

This person will work with global supply chain managers and planning groups to resolve issues and work to improve business processes

Your responsibilities include:

  • Drive departments to meet metrics while maintaining compliance with all regulations and procedures. Provide day-to-day direction concerning work assignments, overtime requirements and priorities. Primary driver for project related work and implementation phases.

  • Perform administrative duties, such as monthly employee meetings, Kronos/attendance, performance appraisals (input w/ mgr.), disciplinary actions, job descriptions, interviewing, rewards & recognition, and training/development.

  • Control of warehouse operations through various performance measurements. May include turnaround time, error rates, stock turns, inventory variance, A/B/C analysis, slow-moving inventory items, non-moving inventory items, shortages, and cycle counting. Ensuring compliance to functional operating instructions.

  • Provide short-range planning concerning staffing requirements, OT requirements, schedules, budget, and space requirements.

  • Provide long-range planning concerning staffing, budget, equipment requirements, methods improvements, capital equipment, and technology improvements (bar coding, scanning/automaton, retrieval systems, etc.). Performs other duties as required.

What we're looking for:

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3-5 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Strong Leadership and Communication skills

  • Solid computer skills required including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Leadership/team building skills required.

  • Distribution experience required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience preferred

  • Experience with SAP (or similar systems)

  • Experience with Lean tools, principles and Root cause analysis / problem solving

  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan)

  • FDA/Regulated environment experience

The incumbent is a key liaison between the Product Supply/Operations Team, the Business Unit Finance team and the FP&A team. The position supports the Company in monitoring and analyzing delivered cost and providing recommendations and insight to drive value-adding business decision, and will facilitate the development of cost of sales budgets, forecasts, and other business opportunities/problems with the supply chain and financial leadership teams. This includes presenting financial information to senior executives and other leaders. Core Responsibilities * Support the Procurement organization in tracking all Inflation/Deflation prices in all commodities and Materials purchased. Prepare reporting and support organization looking for opportunities in price improvements. Also lead and support Make vs. Buy analysis. * Support Logistics team and provide accurate and full visibility of all financials related to all Distribution centers and logistics costs, including closing and forecasting support. * Responsible for Actuals and Forecast Financials consolidation, and preparing Bridges/walks and reporting to Leadership for all the Supply elements … Materials, Cost conversion and Period costs * Lead and support all Supply Team leaders in closing and forecast preparation and cost tracking (Compensation, T&L, Waste sales, Transfers and allocations) for all the Staff cost centers * Ensure the organization attracts, develops and retains the very best people, by embracing their coaching duties to ensure we're fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion.
