Distribution Manager

Key Objectives

• Achieve the strategic goals and objectives for the 2nd shift distribution operations.

• Drive labor productivity and efficiency improvements.

• Enhance on-time and complete shipping performance.

• Optimize warehouse material flow and shipping accuracy.

• Reduce freight costs and enhance logistics efficiency.

Scope

• Supervise approximately 30 employees during the 2nd shift.

• Oversee operations in a 150,000 sq. ft. facility.

• Coordinate with 1st shift operations to ensure seamless workflow.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a clean and safe working environment.

• Implement and manage safety programs to foster a culture of safety.

• Conduct regular safety training and ensure compliance with safety standards.

• Ensure timely and accurate shipping schedules.

• Plan and allocate resources to meet shipping demands.

• Optimize the full order cycle for efficiency.

• Monitor and manage freight expenses.

• Negotiate with freight suppliers to secure cost-effective solutions.

• Work with customers to meet their logistics requirements.

• Develop and manage the 2nd shift budget.

• Implement cost-effective systems for managing expenditures.

• Seek process improvements to enhance ROI and workflow efficiency.

• Maintain high inventory accuracy.

• Ensure integrity in system transactions.

• Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

• Implement performance management processes.

• Mentor and develop team members to build a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse, shipping, and logistics management.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Proven ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Experience with budgeting and financial statements.

• Proficient in material management methods and WMS software.

• Demonstrated leadership skills and a track record of driving team performance.

• High degree of process discipline and compliance to standards.

• Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies.

• Six Sigma training or certification.

• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.

• Experience using Oracle software.

Additional Information

• This position requires working the 2nd shift schedule, 3:00 -11:30 pm.

• The role involves collaboration with the 1st shift team and other departments to ensure operational continuity.
