Job Summary:

The purpose of the role is supporting the day-to-day operations of distribution from multiple assigned company operated warehouse locations in the West. Overseeing all warehouse functions are carried out effectively and safely, managing the distribution of all products, parts, and accessories. Ensures timely fulfillment of products to ensure fill rate goals are achieved. Manages all warehouse activities, maintains contact with vendors on product receiving and delivery. Ensures that orders arrive and are dispatched on time to the appropriate destinations and in the expected quantities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Material handlers at multiple warehouse sites.

Duties/Responsibilities:

These are the responsibilities that the employee has full accountability for delivering.

  • Manage and facilitate all facets of supply management activities between business units

  • Implement sourcing strategies to support corporate and business units.

  • Understand, track and forecast the key cost drivers

  • Responsibility to evaluate, negotiate and track all contract terms for all equipment purchases

  • Coordinate with equipment providers for the scheduled delivery of materials and supplies

  • Locate, analyze, and develop a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future commodity needs

  • Working with the Regional management, wholesale sales, and corporate staff to identify cost efficiencies and sales opportunities.

  • Ensure the security of all company assets.

  • Ensure that all paperwork is completed and inventories are conducted accurately.

  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations

  • Oversee warehouse staff and ensure 100% pick accuracy

  • Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements

  • Ensure complete compliance with all regulatory agencies

  • Safeguard warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures

  • Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts, cycle counts and spot checks; reconcile inventory with electronic data storage systems

  • Maintain cost effective shipping methods and continuously strive to improve freight costs and efficiencies

  • Stock control - Inwards & Outwards Goods

  • OSHA compliance for warehouse

  • DOT compliance for SRR's shipments

  • Inventory control documentation completed at all times

  • Staff attendance sheets

  • Perform daily, weekly and monthly stock takes

  • Warranty testing & recording

  • Staff training

  • Ensure product quality

  • Scrap collection

  • Daily communications to SRR's and other direct reports.

  • All other duties as required

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 5+ years supervisory experience required

  • 5+ years Transportation and Warehousing experience required

  • DOT and Hazardous Communication Training

  • Knowledge of OSHA Compliance Preferred

  • Proficient with computer (MS Office Programs, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong customer service experience

  • Ability to train and motivate team members

  • Able to operate warehousing equipment and company vehicles

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

  • Cost management

  • Strong scheduling and route-development skills

  • Demonstrated ability to generate results through team/staff

  • Ability to identify efficiencies, develop solutions

  • Product-related experience

  • Performance management: coaching, development, interview/selection

  • Strong people-management, team and BSP motivation

  • Strong knowledge of logistics, distribution, warehouse, DOT, etc

  • Computer & technical skills - word, excel, PowerPoint, tech-savvy

Essential Functions of the role/ Physical Requirements:

LIFT1Distribution Managers must be able to tolerate lifting batteries off a shelf and place on rolling shelf to be distributed to local centers. Requires vertically transferring batteries off a shelf weighing up to (40 Lbs.)

PUSH/PULL1 Distribution Managers must be able to push and pull cart full of core batteries to be shipped to local companies for recycling. Must horizontally transfer core batteries requiring a force up to (50 Lbs.)

UPPER Distribution Managers must be able to push batteries down rolling system shelf. Requires upper

EXTREMITY body force up to (50 Lbs.)

PUSH/PULL1

COUPLE1 Distribution Managers must be able to grasp/grab batteries from pallet requiring bilateral coupling forces up to (30 Lbs.), and place on rolling system to be distributed to local establishment.

CLIMB1 Distribution Managers must be able to tolerate climbing up and down (3 rungs) onto a forklift. Requires climbing ladder up to 15 rungs/shift in (8 hr.).

REPETITIVE Distribution Managers must be able to lift batteries from pallet and place on rolling shelf.

POSTURE1Requesting repetitive assumptions of posture access a point (14 inches)

TEMPERATURE1 Distribution Managers must tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures

VISION1 Distribution Managers requires (Near/Far/Depth/Color) vision

WALK1 Distribution Managers must be able to tolerate walking on a cement floor accessing all areas of the warehouse. Requires walking up to (5.0) mi.), in (8 hr.).
