Job Title: Distribution Manager

Summary

Manages the overall planning, organization, and operations of the company's distribution center. Oversees all distribution functions, including receiving, storing, inventory control, order processing, picking, packaging, shipping. Balances workloads as needed to achieve production and delivery goals. Utilizes software, data, and analytics to optimize operations, track production metrics, and anticipate and resolve problems. Provides the necessary equipment, tools, and training to staff to ensure safe, secure, and efficient operations. Complies with all OSHA and other regulations, policies, safety procedures, and documentation requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Partners with the logistics organization to meet business goals and customer needs for inbound and outbound deliveries.

  • Seeks and executes improvements in Safety, Quality, Efficiency, and Delivery.

  • Plans projects and sets goals for employees to meet.

  • Responds to orders efficiently so that products are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Keeps communication between warehouses and other departments including purchasing, returns, shipping.

  • Coordinates with store managers, sales or customers regarding discrepancies and errors in the order fulfilment process.

  • Establishes quality procedures for employees assigned to areas throughout the distribution center.

  • Manages time/schedules for the distribution center using the ADP system.

  • Creates training content, processes, and procedures for warehouse consistency throughout the organization.

  • Ensures the site has the proper tools, supplies, and equipment for day-to-day operations.

  • Implements worker safety and health regulations. Provides and facilitates a safe working area for the entire department, addressing any safety concerns/needs outside the department that is brought to their attention

  • Collaborates with distribution center managers across functional boundaries to develop schedules, procedures and solutions and maintains a floor presence that "inspects what we expect" relative to safety, housekeeping and associate performance.

  • Recruits, hires, and onboards high performing individuals that adhere to the organization's standards.

  • Coordinates, trains, and monitors the performance of management and staff through training programs, frequent feedback, regular performance reviews, and exceptional communication skills.

  • Investigates and resolves service/quality complaints and performance issues, including disciplinary procedures as necessary or appropriate to achieve peak staff performance.

  • Ensures implementation and adherence to Human Resources policies and procedures through enforcement and accountability.

  • Achieve all KPI's that are set for Distribution Center by Leadership

  • Ability to train and implement multiple ERP/WMS applications

  • Responsible for budget planning and properly controlling expenses to ensure profitability goals are achieved

  • Complies with the requirements of the company's ISO 9001 Quality Management System (when required).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend and kneel on an occasional basis.

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Regular manual dexterity/coordination: hand/eye movements, motor control.

  • Regular visual effort: concentrated reading of documentation or close viewing of computer displays.

  • Able to push, pull and lift up to 15lbs. on an occasional basis.

Required Education/Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 5 years equivalent work experience in business, supply chain and operations management; particularly within the agriculture and construction parts sectors, is preferred.

  • Advanced computer knowledge including e-mail, Word, and Excel software.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills

  • Well-versed with supply chain, inventory management, material requirement and planning, and project management programs.

  • Willingness to travel as required.
