As a Distribution Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of overhead and underground utility systems. Your responsibilities will include detailed engineering assessments, design planning, and project coordination.
Engineering and Design Assessment:
Evaluate existing utility systems, both overhead and underground.
Provide detailed assessments and recommendations for system improvements.
Design replacements or upgrades to meet utility standards.
Estimation and Drawing Development:
Develop and modify accurate estimates for projects.
Create engineering drawings using tools like BlueBeam, AutoCAD, and GIS software.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with managers, engineers, and colleagues.
Regularly review project status and determine effective communication strategies.
Site Visits and Data Collection:
Visit project sites to assess existing utility conditions.
Gather necessary information for each project.
Project Coordination:
Coordinate right-of-way (ROW) acquisition, planning, and design functions.
Provide regular project updates to ensure schedule adherence and work forecast.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
0-1.5 years of prior internship or utility experience preferred. Knowledge of overhead (OH) and underground (UG) fiber optic and other telecommunication distribution means is advantageous.
Familiarity with Engineering Design software tools
