Position Summary:

The supervisor ensures accomplishment of the DC Mission: "On Time, Accurate and Efficient Delivery of Merchandise to our Stores". The supervisor is responsible for the daily, weekly and monthly planning of their department. The supervisor will monitor, coach and direct the associates to attain the department and DC goals.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plan, communicate and execute the department's daily, weekly and monthly action plans to meet department and DC performance expectations. This includes responsibility for maintaining the department labor budget, proper labor planning and resource requirements, meeting service level, accuracy and quality goals, and controlling shrink in order to meet store commitments.

  • Develop associates to achieve the department's performance goals and objectives. This includes on-the-job training, coaching and giving feedback on performance including observations, and timely writing and delivering of performance appraisals.

  • Foster excellent communication and teamwork amongst associates. This includes maintaining open communication with associates, daily start-up meetings, and department morale.

  • Create a safe work environment for associates. This includes ensuring the associates have the proper equipment to do their job, clean work area, and educating associates on proper techniques.

  • Continuous analysis of, and improving department processes and procedures



  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1-3 years of Distribution/warehouse experience

  • Outstanding leadership qualities including: assertiveness, organization, empathy, enthusiasm, decisiveness, planning, confidence, accountability, effective delegation, perseverance and credibility.

  • Proven ability to deal well with people at all levels and working in a team environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Must be willing to work flexible hours.

  • Technical knowledge: Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), AS-400, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)

  • The physical demands referenced here are relevant to performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and talk or hear. The associate is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.


  • Bachelor Degree preferred

  • Distribution/warehouse supervision experience preferred.

Job Responsibilities * Installs, upgrades, troubleshoots and repairs of hardware and software on or related to desktop pc's, printers, pc hardware systems, pc networks, LAN and RF devices. * Runs and monitors batch jobs such as integrated store order processing and prints picking documentation (labels). * Troubleshoots as first level support any problems experienced by production equipment. * Provides technical support for standard and proprietary desktop software. Relate to a diverse group of people, including team members, senior management, business customers, and vendors with courtesy and in a constructive, professional manner. * Provides information for standard desktop relocations and set up, by investigating and asking appropriate questions to support end-user needs. * Lifts and transports PC's, monitors, terminals and printers for deployment. Performs repairs or coordinates with vendors on more complex repairs. * Maintains and troubleshoots networking problems and systems (PC networking including switches and cabling, RF wireless systems, etc) * Maintains and troubleshoots proprietary material handling software and systems from vendors such as Dematic and Schaefer. * Answers questions regarding PC/printer software/hardware issues, and makes IT recommendations.
