Responsible for the material flow of Finished Goods and Samples throughout a multi-facility warehouse and distribution operation by managing staff, establishing policies and procedures, measuring success and taking corrective actions where appropriate by performing the following duties:

  • Develops, implements and maintains operational procedures and S.O.P.'s for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, disposition and distribution of materials, accuracy of perpetual inventory, FIFO, and location tracking resulting in cost effective efficiencies for flow of materials through out more than one facility on multiple shifts.

  • Maintains inventory accuracy of greater than 99% by taking daily cycle counts and assists production schedulers in maintaining data on appropriate inventory levels and turns. Responsible for taking periodic physical inventories.

  • Maintains 100% location tracking and insures proper FIFO stock rotation.

  • Processes orders by supervising the scheduling of orders for shipment. Complies with customer requirements by ensuring error free shipments (PERFECT ORDER.)

  • Ensures the most cost effective shipping method while meeting customer requirements.

  • Directs warehouse support staff, specifies their duties, insures their appropriate training and maintains a performance management system.

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations in order to maintain compliance with state and federal requirements.

  • Implementation and maintenance of a bar coding system.

  • Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and benchmarking information and trends.

  • Maintains a Superior Rating with SQF/FDA and participates in the monthly internal audit.

  • Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and developing personal growth opportunities for all subordinates.

  • Evaluates staff activities by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and appraising results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees as appropriate.

  • Creates a safe working environment, adheres to all safety and training requirements, oversees forklift operator training, and vehicle maintenance programs to insure that timely training is completed.

  • Communicates with other department heads to insure coordination of warehouse activities with the activities of other departments such as production, other Inline facilities or customer service.

  • Directly supervises approximately 10 to 15 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
