About the Role
Canon U.S.A. is seeking a Distribution Center Coordinator I (Coordinator, Dist Center I) to work out of our Distribution Center Located in Jamesburg, NJ. This individual brings together several operations to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. Reports to the shipping supervisor. Level I employees are expected to develop an understanding of their job role and skill set. They then apply this skill set to a range of tasks that can be difficult in nature. They work under supervision of the shipping lead and supervisor. Benefits start on day one including medical, dental & vision. 40 Hour Work Week, Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Overtime may be required on weekdays and Saturdays. This position requires full-time presence at your assigned office(s)/worksite(s)/territory.
Your Impact
Level I employees are entry-level and learning company policies and processes so they can develop the basic skills necessary to be successful in the job role
Their tasks are routine in nature, do not require decision-making and they work under close supervision
Input requisitions and track orders from procurement through delivery
Coordinate with Procurement as needed
Review freight bills for exceptions, approve, and forward to the appropriate party
Handle vendor relationships and inquiries for Canon USA leased facility
Support supply ordering to support Canon USA operations
Code and enter 3PL storage and handling invoices
Perform basic system transactions in Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
Assist with budget preparation for third party (3PL) Distribution Centers
Support Canon USA DC management as needed with special projects
Fulfills proof of delivery requests and responds to internal and external customer service inquiries
Processes freight claims and customer returns; communicates with the credit department, logistics team, and various carriers
Processes shipping order cancellations, requests for freight expense quotes, and freight disposition requests
Coordinates export documents and communications with Logistics
Brings together several facets of operations to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness
About You: The Skills & Expertise You Bring
MS Office experience
Basic MS Excel is required
Both verbal and written communications skills are a must
Oracle is a plus
Administrative and/or Financial experience preferred
Ability to lift up to 25lbs is required. The company will not pursue or support visa sponsorship for this position. In accordance with applicable law we are providing the starting hourly rate for this role: $21.00 - $25.00
