DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

At Federal-Mogul Motorparts, we continuously raise the bar for the Motorparts industry. Our large manufacturing and distribution operation in Skokie is looking for an Distribution Analyst who will be responsible for coordinating and/or fixing critical WMS system and interface issues that may occur. This person would be responsible for carrying out tasks assigned by the Federal-Mogul DC Manager based on business needs (such as modifying system configuration, testing system configuration, testing upgraded and modified software, modifying access permissions, analyzing and evaluating software bugs, etc.).

An ideal candidate for this role is a degreed Distribution professional with experience in a large manufacturing facility. This individual will act as a consultant to distribution center personnel and other internal customers.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate with the distribution center management team to establish long-range plans for distribution center operations specifically related to the utilization, upgrades and effectiveness of WMS and related systems.

  • Assist DC end users with technical support regarding common problems or questions that occur regularly

  • Analyze business requirements, create conceptual process and software configuration designs.

  • Develop and test changes to the software and systems configurations jointly with IT.

  • Validate user acceptance testing of tested changes to software and the systems configurations.

  • Develop user training in the use and operation of WMS.

  • Develop, document, maintain and support configuration standards, policies, procedures systems and processes.

  • Targets to reduce customer concerns and external and internal PPM and to Eliminate, Reduce Reuse, or Recycle natural resources.

  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as business needs require

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or relative work experience.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of distribution processes.

  • WMS specific knowledge (handle user account man., file transfers, peripheral systems interface knowledge, scripting knowledge (SQL preferred.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both orally and written form with co-workers, departments, customers and vendors.

  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements, such as OSHA standards, and 9000 and ISO 14001 policies and procedure.

  • Demonstrated skills in the operation of various computer programs including MOVE, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Visio.

  • Knowledge of the principles of Constraint Management and 5S.

Designs, develops, and implements methods, processes and systems to consolidate and analyze diverse data sets including structured and unstructured. Develops software programs, algorithms, dashboards, information tools, and queries to clean, model, integrate and evaluate datasets. Keeps abreast of new analytic methodologies and technologies. Collaborates with functional business units to drive business solutions and direction. Assist in requirements gathering, break/fix analysis, problem resolution research, queue monitoring, root cause analysis, site communication planning, content development for incident knowledge base, training materials, and coordination of support services, and request management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Assist in gathering and documenting functional and technical requirements, as well as assisting the user community to turn those requirements into an appropriate Investment Proposal, and potentially its associated CER. * Assist in break/fix analysis for individual and recurring support issues. Document findings and work with appropriate resources to find and deliver cost effective and timely solutions. * Assist in or provide queue monitoring in the Service Desk software tool and follow appropriate guidelines for ensuring that the ITIL processes are followed within approved SLAs. Monitor queue KPIs and provide solutions to improve results. * Assist in root cause analysis of complex incidents or recurring problems. Assist in development of solutions to those problems. Document in the problem resolution knowledge database, and assist in developing training materials to resolve ongoing issues or improve knowledge. * Assist in the development of new processes and procedures to improve existing services, or to assist in deploying new support services. * Ensure work is compliant with applicable guidelines and regulations (e.g. SOP, GLP, SMP, SOX, etc.) * Perform all other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: * Education: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) or equivalent in computer science or related discipline. * Experience: 2 to 4 years of relate IT experience. * An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. * Certification/Licensure: None. * Other: Requires good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
