Design and develop real-time software for audio and digital communications algorithms and device drivers to be used in wireless products.

Work in a global environment teams in 3 continents to develop software algorithms that will be used in all Motorola public safety wireless products globally.

  • Analyze tradeoffs and prioritize requirements; address requirement conflicts.

  • Develop DSP algorithms for wireless protocols.

  • Architect, design and develop fixed point DSP software on various target processors.

  • Design and implement optimization techniques for improving algorithm performance.

  • Tune algorithms to meet strict real-time performance requirements.

  • Optimize memory usage of algorithms.

  • Design and implement device driver and peripheral drivers to meet strict protocol timing requirements.

  • Provide technical leadership to a globally located team of developers.

  • Analyze tradeoffs and make design decisions on software development environment.

  • Some global travel may be required

Specific Knowledge/Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of DSP and low level software development experience on embedded targets.

  • Experience with TI DSPs a plus.

  • Candidate should have gone through at least one full product development lifecycle for a wireless communication product.

  • Academic grounding in DSP and Digital communications a plus.

  • Prior software development experience in a globally distributed team environment is desirable.

Demonstrates proven extensive knowledge and success as a team leader by supervising teams to create an atmosphere of trust and seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation; * Answering questions and providing direction to less-experienced staff; * Coaching staff including providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback. Demonstrates proven extensive abilities and success as a team member understanding various Oracle application-based solutions, especially in one or more of the technical components to an implementation, including (but not limited to) Architecture, Infrastructure, Middleware and Application Development, and the following other areas: * Contributing as a technical team member in consulting, designing, and implementing those solutions; * Designing, implementing and supporting business processes in an Oracle environment; * Designing, building, testing and deploying various Oracle solutions; * Building relationships with clients; * Developing an awareness of Firm services; * Communicating with the client in an organized and knowledgeable manner; * Delivering clear requests for information; * Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks; * Communicating potential conflicts to a supervisor.
