The specific role is focused on driving a technical strategy and development for IoT hardware and software products - on prem and in public/private cloud. The primary functions of this key leadership position are to partner with cross-functional technical stakeholders within both engineering, product management and field teams to lead the technology direction, facilitate key technical decision points, and take the architecture specifications into working engineering outcomes

What You'll Do

We are looking for an individual to balance strategic process thinking and "rolling up their sleeves" to resolve issues. A successful candidate must be able to challenge the status quo by demonstrating a willingness to re-invent current processes, and embrace change as a challenge. The candidate should possess the ability to make recommendations and influence change across multiple levels of the organization - from individual engineers & managers to senior executive/business leaders. A "go-getter" approach

  • Interface with multiple engineering groups in Cisco networking, security and mobile wireless, who are responsible for developing the infrastructure and products that define a complete IoT solution.

  • Align technology to business strategy, and proactively drive a technical direction throughout the organization

Who You Are

  • 15+ year's software and architecture experience in a technology based company with 4+ years focused on cloud environments and their supporting infrastructures

  • Experience in the design and development of cloud-native scaled out and distributed applications that leverage micro service architecture, REST APIs, relational and NoSQL stores, some level of networking and system expertise, strong tooling, monitoring, and cloud management experience

  • Strong experience working in small, highly technical teams employing Agile/Scrum practices

  • Ability to deliver results in a short time and experience working in fast paced high growth tech companies

  • Proven ability to influence a diverse geographically dispersed group of individuals to facilitate, moderate, and influence productive design and implementation discussions driving towards results

  • Strong knowledge of key infrastructure technologies such as: Database (Oracle, Postgres, MySQL. Big Data and NOSQL Databases like Cassandra, Elastic Search, Mongo. In Memory DB like Timesten, Redis, Dynomite), Cloud Services (DaaS, IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), Networking (LAN, WAN), Platform, continuous delivery solutions (AWS, Azure, Google) and Storage Technologies (UNIX, LINUX, Windows, SAN)

Required Experience

  • Hands-on experience with a broad mix of technologies including a strong subset of:

  • Core Java 8, Spring framework, SpringBoot, Spring Cloud

  • Angular JS, React

  • Cloud Foundry (or equivalent)

  • MariaDB, EnterpriseDB, NoSQL (Cassandra, MongoDB, Elastic search), IMDG

  • RabbitMQ, Kafka

  • AWS and Azure cloud services

  • API gateway

  • Linux, Unix systems

  • Drools/Activiti, and a range of open source libraries

  • CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub, SonarQube, Fortify etc)

  • Demonstrated experience and expertise selling solutions to business decision-makers by reinforcing the value of solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing an integrated architectural view of, and strategy for, enterprise-wide database infrastructure technology solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience with High Performing and Highly Available Distributed Database Topologies, Database Platform and Storage Technologies, Data Migration, System Management and Monitoring Tools, Cloud Services, Big Data and Datacenter Facilities.

  • Demonstrated experience working in agile teams.

  • Ability to work with highly distributed teams, including interaction with the open source communities.

  • IoT experience in IT or OT environments is an asset.

In this role, the IoT Product Manager will lead our software infrastructure product definition, provide leadership and direction in developing and maintaining the larger IoT technical ecosystem, facilitate cross functional roadmaps with other product managers, as well as maintain and/or migrate existing platforms. The candidate would have a deep, hands-on role in defining product capabilities and working closely with engineering and marketing teams. Key Accountabilities Customer Insight and Market Intelligence * Analyze and understand IoT ecosystem, market trends and customer needs * Lead the development of timely business, economic, market and competitive intelligence analysis to support strategic planning initiatives and penetrate new markets. * Be close to the customer, deeply understand voice of customer (VOC) needs, and measure ongoing customer satisfaction.
