Distillery Shift Supervisor (Night Shift)

We are looking to hire a Distillery Shift Supervisor to join our Lux Row team. Under the direction of the Distillery Senior Supervisor, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring all production is accurately accounted for on their respective shift. The Shift Supervisor is also responsible for all distillery operations and analyzing performance data while holding all operators on their shift accountable for their performance as well as ensuring the facility is operating per established production schedules. Manage wet cake/DDG levels and relay to Senior Supervisor as needed. Provide guidance in receiving and testing grain deliveries to ensure Lux Row quality standards are met. Must maintain working knowledge of all equipment and processes in distillery operations in order to keep the facility running in a safe and efficient manner. Will serve as backup for other shift supervisors when vacancies occur.

What will you do?

Operator Management

• Manages crew of 4 operators to achieve maximum production in a safe and efficient manner

• Communicates daily objectives for team members through verbal instructions

• Review all record keeping for accuracy and completeness

• Perform disciplinary action as necessary

• Responsible for ensuring all operators are operating in a safe manner per Lux Row safety standards

Distillery Operation

• Observe overall operations on shift and make adjustments as necessary

• Cross-trained on all equipment operation in distillery and Dry House

• Maintain working knowledge of automated and manual process controls and HMI screens

• Perform CIP (Clean in Place) activities at frequency as assigned by Senior Supervisor

• Work with management and maintenance department to make recommendations on repair as appropriate

Quality Lab Functions

• Perform lab wet chemistry on cook and fermenter samples as needed

• Ensure all data is properly entered into Quest QC software

Operator Training

• Responsible for training new operators on all equipment and processes in distillery and dry house

• Leads Re-training efforts as necessary

• Review and assist in maintaining SOPs

Back Up Shift Managers

• Fill in for the other shift managers when vacancies occur

What do you need to bring to the table?

• High School Diploma required

• Bachelor's Degree preferred

• Minimum of 2-5 years' experience in manufacturing environment

• 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Personal computer skills including Microsoft Office, company specific software programs

• Excellent leadership skills

• Strong verbal communication and coaching ability

• Must have organizational and time management skills
