RESPONSIBILITIES

• The Distance Minnesota Manager provides day-to-day and strategic leadership (in a remote/virtual work environment) in support of both a product and service model portfolio - with an emphasis on growing consortium partnership activities for member colleges (Alexandria Technical and Community College, Bemidji State University, Northland Community and Technical College and Northwest Technical College). Areas of program development include serving military, higher education, governmental, and secondary school partnerships and expansion of products and services to new audiences.

• The manager will coordinate and oversee Distance Minnesota (DM) operations including a variety of interrelated activities within Northwest Minnesota and statewide. Such activities include partnership development, funding/grant seeking, partnership recruitment and outreach activities to prospective and existing business and industry partners, coordination and delivery of related education, training, and services with high schools and university partners, including creation and support of educational pathways from high school to university level.

• The manager serves as the director for partnerships with the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs in leading contract duties as assigned to support the Veterans Linkage Line, Veterans Homeless Registry, SOAR, and the Higher Education Veterans Program coordinators, and the like.

• This position involves significant discretion and substantial involvement in the development, interpretation, and implementation of Alexandria Technical and Community College, Bemidji State University, Northland Community and Technical College and Northwest Technical College as partners of Online College in the High School.

• The Distance Minnesota Manager also oversees the system, college and university contracts which support admissions processing, chat on websites, and after-hour phone rollover calls.

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in education or related field

• Five years related experience in in a college or university setting

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience following state policy and procedures and program accreditation;

• Evidence of experience in program planning, development, and developing partnerships;

• Demonstrated cultural competency and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, faculty, and staff;

• Experience thinking strategically while managing multiple types of problems at the same time;

• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills;

• Natural leadership instincts, with a positive team building approach;

• Fosters communication and collaboration within and between teams;

• Soft skills necessary to manage and lead the team through interpersonal dynamic issues when they arise;

• Experience working with Veterans affairs;

• Understanding of strategic planning and systematic decision-making;

• Active understanding of Minnesota State system policy, procedures, and data privacy laws.

• CRM Implementation experience.
