We are hiring at Starling Physicians, a VillageMD company!
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:
Assisting the provider with the process of reviewing, processing, preparing, filling, labelling, and dispensing medications sent by our physicians to our medically integrated dispensing facility
Performing data entry of prescriptions ensuring accurate and simple patient instructions
Collecting appropriate insurance plan information and inputting it into the patient's profile for adjudication
Adjudicating and resolving rejected claims in collaboration with the health plan, pharmacy benefit manager, patient, and/or prescriber
Appropriately triaging patient prescriptions to the correct filling specialty pharmacy based on insurance contracting and limited distribution model drugs
Assisting in submitting prior authorizations for specialty medications in collaboration with the medical team
Assist in obtaining financial assistance for patients who are unable to afford copays for their specialty medications
Collaborating with clinic staff, and patients to resolve patient medication related issues
Communicating in a friendly and professional manner with patients and clinical team
Accurately documents actions in the medical record for interdepartmental communication
Receiving inbound calls from patients and providers regarding orders for medications, MID services, and all other inquiries and documenting in medical record
Placing outbound calls to patients or clinics as needed to coordinate patient care related to oral medications
Assisting with management of oral medication inventory including ordering, receiving, returning to stock, or managing expiring medications per protocol
Assisting in keeping accurate temperature logs and proper control documentation of medications including lot numbers
Appropriately escalating patient or provider concerns to supervisor when appropriate to ensure good patient and provider relations are maintained
Assist with quality assurance activities as assigned, including value-based initiatives and quality improvement programs
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Pharmacy Technician Licensure
Oncology experience preferred
Retail pharmacy or specialty pharmacy experience preferred
Prior experience in a medically integrated dispensing facility preferred
