We are currently looking for a Dispensary Associate to work in our registered medical dispensary (RMD) located in Bethesda, MD.

Job Responsibilities

The Dispensary Associate assists and supports all aspects of the patient / customer dispensary experience including but not limited to the following"

  • Maintains a distribution process that is professional and safe for all customers and in compliance to federal and state guidelines.

  • Delivers superior patient "customer service" within the dispensary; engage prospective, new, and returning patients in a friendly and welcoming manner.

  • Provides patients with a menu of currently available medical Cannabis products and specials, including all printed information materials.

  • Verifies identification and medical marijuana registration card from each patient, determines eligibility and makes and maintains copies of required identification from each patient.

  • Ensures that all security, HIPAA and privacy issues are being followed at all times.

  • Assists Dispensary Managers to ensure patients are sold correct and legal amounts of medical marijuana, and to ensure only 1 to 2 patients are in the dispensing area at one time.

  • Provides information to patients regarding the risks, benefits and possible side effects associated with the use of medical marijuana.

  • Educates patients on medical marijuana medicinal properties and provide guidance in the selection of medical Cannabis per the patient's health condition or desired effect.

  • Fulfills patient orders and conduct sales accurately in accordance to established policies and procedures; responsible for cash handling at the register, including giving proper change and counting their registers at the start and close of any register shift.

  • Provides accurate and consistent customer service to all patients/guests by answering or appropriately directing questions, and handling patient issues, concerns or complaints.

  • Delivers a high level of patient engagement while maintaining and elevating brand reputation. Acts as a brand ambassador, increases brand awareness and builds customer loyalty.

  • Follows up on any patient issues requiring additional research and escalates unresolved issues to the appropriate supervisor or manager.

  • Receives store and inventory supplies and maintains the professional appearance of the dispensary by restocking inventory as needed (notifying managers when stock is low) and participating in work area clean-up.

  • Performs clerical and office support tasks such as inventory, filing, compiling and maintaining provisions set forth and cleaning, sterilizing instruments and disposing of contaminated supplies.

  • Refuses to provide marijuana to an individual, whom the employee or volunteer believes is abusing marijuana or appears impaired and recognizes signs of impairment and/or abuse and immediately report this information to your supervisor.

  • Assists management with dispensary safety and security measures, ensuring only authorized personnel enter the facilities secured areas and requiring all non-card holders or visitors to be checked in on the visitor log.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


  • Must be 21 years of age or older

  • Must pass a state mandated Background Check

  • Experience in retail, hospitality or patient services, preferred

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule (nights and/or weekends)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with basic math skills

  • Participates and embraces a highly motivated team environment

  • Experience in a fast paced, high transaction environment, preferred

  • Strong organizational and decision-making skills

  • Must be computer literate POS experience is desirable

  • High school graduate
