JOB SUMMARY:

This position involves receiving heavy call volumes and scheduling concrete orders over the telephone. In addition to scheduling orders to achieve maximum production and customer satisfaction by serving customers by determining requirements, answering inquiries, resolving problems, fulfilling requests, and maintaining database information.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Knowledge and ability to utilize the Command Dispatching System for scheduling.

  • Prepare work schedules for employees based on future demand.

  • Ability to accurately and efficiently input phone orders for delivery.

  • Ability to schedule the shipment of concrete for each day to optimize our truck fleet, achieve operational efficiency, profitability and satisfy customer expectations.

  • Answers inquiries by clarifying, researching, locating, and providing information.

  • Ability to resolves problems by clarifying issues, researching and exploring answers and alternative solutions, implementing solutions and escalating unresolved problems.

  • Ability to recognize opportunities to up-sell accounts by explaining new features.

  • Continuing to update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Regular, reliable attendance at the worksite or assigned work location

  • Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience/Education/Skill

  • Minimum 1 year experience as a concrete dispatcher or order taker.

  • Ready mix and concrete technical knowledge

  • Knowledge of DOT laws and hours of service

  • Ability to clearly communicate with others via 2-way communications.

  • Ability to handle and resolve customer issues with diplomacy and professionalism.

  • Able to work well and motivate others to achieve high levels of customer service and satisfaction.

  • Self-motivated, organized and able to learn aspects of order taking / dispatching.

  • Flexibility to meet changing daily production schedules and able to work under pressure.

  • Able to interact professionally, with colleagues and customers.

  • Strong Microsoft Office applications experience and utilization.

  • Detail oriented and able to multi-task in fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive attitude that fosters effective relationships.

  • Excellent verbal, written and comprehension communication skills

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, nights and weekends.

  • Ability to read, write and figure mathematical calculations.

  • Willingness to work nights, overtime and weekends as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English preferred

  • Experience using Command software preferred

  • Knowledge of local contractors and the local metropolitan area preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lift, push or pull objects of various dimensions up to 30 lbs. of weight frequently

  • Ability to perform 80% sedentary work and tolerate prolonged standing / sitting / walking

  • Ability to repeatedly balance, bend from the trunk, crawl, kneel, push and pull objects

  • Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel

  • Ability to verbally communicate, hear, and specific vision abilities including close vison, distant vision, color vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
