Deering Lumber is a division of US LBM, a leading distributor of building materials in the United States. Our company caters to quality and value-conscious Pro contractors and remodelers. We operate 3 building centers conveniently located in Biddeford, Kennebunk & Springvale Maine. The Dispatcher reports to the Operations Manager and responsible for the organization and completion of all aspects of the delivery dispatch systems.

How You Will Spend Your Days as a Dispatcher:

  • Prompt Attention Courteous Service Follow Thru with internal and external customers.

  • Organization and completion of deliveries and transfers

  • Identify and implement ways to improve delivery service and efficiency

  • Timely and accurately process all delivery related paperwork, forms and reporting

  • See that all loads are checked for safety, accuracy, and paperwork is in order

  • Prioritize workload for load builders based on customer needs

  • Timely deliveries when backorders are received

  • Practice and enforce safety policies

  • A working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, & keyboarding are helpful

  • Proven experience dispatching and managing truck fleet routing

  • Lumber or similar industry experience

  • Must have good local geographic area knowledge

  • Maine Drivers License

  • Outstanding interpersonal, communication and customer service skills is a must
