BASIC PURPOSE
The Dispatcher will coordinate driver assignments and activities to ensure proper distribution service to our customers. Escalate issues whenever there are risks to proper service.
Job Description
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 9:30AM PST start time.
Starting Pay: $20-$30/hr based on experience

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate driver activities and shuttle assignments to resolve service issues and minimize overtime, downtime, and hours of service violations. Complete attendance trackers and verify that drivers are using Omnitracs properly.
Ensure that customer's needs are being met in a prompt and professional manner and escalate issues (late dispatch, breakdown, other service failures) to managers and sales force. Reassign routes as needed to solve service issues , and ensure that drivers are logging in and utilizing Proof of Delivery scanner.
Coordinate trailer, tractor, and backhaul assignments to support efficient logistics operations.
Visually inspect each driver's appearance to verify that drivers are in proper uniform and have required PPE.
Notify the manager / supervisor in charge and the safety specialist in the event of a vehicle accident or driver injury.
Other duties as assigned by manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Related Experience/Requirements:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Effective communication both verbally and in writing.
Excellent telephone and customer service ability.
Math, analytical, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Basic computer skills with a good knowledge of programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Problem solving and critical thinking abilities to solve problems of limited scope.
Strong teamwork skills with the ability to support others in the department and division.
Education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Prior dispatcher experience preferred.
Knowledge of DOT Hours of Service Regulations and driver logs.
Knowledge of our geographic delivery area.

The expected compensation for this role is $20-$30 per hour. This role is also eligible for overtime compensation, sign-on bonus, and shift differential.
