Required Qualifications:

  • AA degree in related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

Essential Functions:

Under general direction of an assistant manager and with minimal supervision, coordinates the assigning of substitute drivers and attendants to ensure that all routes are covered. Processes driver/attendant leave request and absences from work. Maintains and reviews dispatch reports, timesheets and related correspondence. Reporting directly to the Assistant Transportation Manager, the Dispatcher performs the following duties:

  • Analyzes available resources against immediate requirements for drivers and/or buses within the fleet to meet ongoing demand for providing transportation services to students and schools within FCPS. Assigns staff and makes adjustments to bus routes to ensure on-time bus transportation is provided.

  • Directs the pool of utility drivers and substitute drivers, assesses current shortages against available resources, assigns daily work assignments to individuals to maintain 100% operational capability, monitors their performance and hours worked.

  • Utilizes the two-way radio system to coordinate between operations and fleet to respond to emergency situations, re-routing request or any other non-routine event.

  • Reviews leave submissions for compliance and reviews dispatch log to assess driver availability for requested leave. Makes annotations and forwards leave requests to appropriate manager for approval/disapproval. Maintains leave file and enters data for use by Payroll Assistant to be used in compliance with payroll register. Ensures long term leave notifications are provided to pertinent personnel (Finance, Human Resources, etc.).

  • Processes and maintains files for Health Care Provider forms and doctor notes.

  • Documents and maintains historical file of school closures and cancellations.

  • Maintains office coverage and coordinates correspondence to news media during inclement weather for delays/closures. This position is classified as "Essential Personnel".

  • Serves as receptionist for Department, field's telephonic and written requests from parents and schools regarding bus routing information, adverse weather procedures, complaints about transportation service, and other general information. Greets and assists visitors to Transportation Department.

Other Functions:

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Transportation Management Staff.

Salary:

  • Support Salary Scale, Grade 11, 12-month position (260 days / 8 hours a day)
  • Starting Salary $20.19

Required Qualifications: * Ability to read and write equivalent to a 10th grade educational level. * Demonstration of required physical abilities: Consistently lift a minimum of 40 lbs., extensive bending and standing. * Ability to multi-task and service customers under any conditions. * Ability to follow HACCP guidelines for safe and sanitary food handling from receiving to service. * Ability to practice standard sanitation procedures for care and cleaning of kitchen and equipment. * Ability to learn standard school food and nutrition service operations. * Ability to gather necessary menu items, recipe ingredients and supplies. * Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment and under pressure situations. * Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions. * Ability to effectively communicate to meet the needs of all customers: students, school staff and community. * Basic human relations skills needed to work cooperatively in close proximity with others under constant deadlines. * Ability to perform work requiring sustained moderate physical effort, movement of objects weighing 40-60 lbs., operation of commercial food service equipment, continuous stand and extreme variations in temperature. * Capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Essential Functions: This employee prepares a variety of foods, serves, cleans up, and performs administrative tasks within the food service areas as assigned by the Food and Nutrition Service Complex Manager or designee. Reporting directly to the Food Service Complex Manager, the Food Service Staff Employee performs the following duties: * Begin and complete assigned daily tasks reliably and on time. * Handle, prepare, and serve food as instructed. * Operate food service equipment, including, but not limited to dish washing machine, preparation and serving equipment, as instructed. Follows Food and Nutrition Service Policies for cleaning and sanitizing. * Comply with federal, state and Frederick County Public School policies and regulations. * Follow dress code requirements and hygiene items. * Will communicate effectively to students, staff and other FCPS employees while displaying good customer service attitude. * Perform duties with the knowledge of Food Safety and Sanitation Regulations including HACCP. Follow all rules and regulations pertaining to temperature monitoring and recording. * Complete food service required paperwork accurately and on time. * Following the Food and Nutrition Services Policy for Accountability, perform cash accountability tasks including operation of computer cash register, record keeping, inventory, and accurate control and accounting of money and meals sold and other food sales. * Responsible for accurate accountability of inventory, food prepared, food shipped to other buildings, food used, food leftover and food waste. * Reads and follows recipes as required for consistent food quality. * Responsible for correct portion sizes as required. * Consistent attendance required. Other Functions: * Drive the food service satellite delivery truck as directed. * May be moved to another school within the complex per the Complex Manager's direction. * Performs other duties as assigned by the Food Service Complex Manager.
