The Dispatcher will schedule drivers to ensure prompt receipt and delivery of equipment to/from customers. You will be tasked with organizing the daily dispatch of equipment out of our Astoria flagship branch in a safe and timely manner. Our ideal candidate must be a reliable, self-motivated, high-energy individual with a strong work ethic.

Key Job Responsibilities

• Schedule drivers and organize the daily dispatch of all equipment deliveries

• Coordination of deliveries and pick-up of construction equipment; moves are local to NYC Tri-State area.

• Schedule deliveries and pick-ups in accordance to DOT guidelines

• Working knowledge of 5 boroughs essential (Area knowledge questions will be asked during interview)

• Communicate with customers and internal staff via phone and email, and making additions, cancellations, and changes regarding dispatch schedule

• Work with drivers to ensure diligent attention to safety compliance

• Perform any other duties as assigned by management

Experience Requirements

• Previous dispatch and customer service experience

• Positive and professional phone demeanor, attitude and appearance

• Equipment rental/construction industry and/or related field preferred but not required

• Knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations is a plus

• Knowledge of GVW's, state regulations regarding height and weight maximums is a plus

• Knowledge of Tri-State roadways is a plus
