Position: Dispatcher

Job Description:

The Dispatcher is responsible for the planning, scheduling and dispatching of our customers freight. The role owns the relationship with our valued Independent Contractors and is instrumental in the successful coordination of the timely and accurate delivery of goods. The key responsibilities of this function are to provide exceptional support to our drivers, be quick to respond to questions and troubleshooting concerns and to pro-actively monitor the movement of freight to ensure customer satisfaction.

Core Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the coordination, scheduling, dispatching and planning of customer freight shipments

  • Act as the main point of contact for all driver facing communication via phone, Qualcomm and E-mail

  • Develop a strong relationship with Independent Contractors within assigned fleet

  • Offer exceptional support to TLS Fleet Drivers to ensure that their professional needs are being met

  • Monitor shipments throughout transit in order to effectively meet delivery schedules

  • Respond to customers efficiently, thoroughly, and professionally

  • Manage customer and driver expectations to align with operational capabilities

  • Monitor performance and available hours of Fleet Drivers

  • Work cooperatively with customer service/sales to provide solutions for customers needs and resolve issues

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Self-motivated problem-solver with strong desire to meet customer needs

  • Proactively establish and maintain effective working team relationships with all support departments

Skills:

  • Ideal candidate will possess acan do attitude with a will do work ethic

  • Must have the ability to work in a fast paced environment

  • Experience with AS400 operating systems is a plus

  • Transportation industry knowledge and experience is a plus

  • Prior dispatch/load planning experience is a plus

We are currently seeking a Dispatcher to provide a timely response of customer inquiries up to and including pick-ups, schedules, product orders, etc., and all other aspects of a customer's needs. Dispatches vehicles on a pre-set route for each driver on a daily basis in the interest of efficient customer service. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Customer 1st: * Monitor, manage and assist with SFDC cases. * Assist Customer Service with customer requests, route changes, rescheduling for pickups/missed stops. * Provides highest level of customer service to all customers in line with Customer 1st objectives. Company Growth: * Assist with routine PDT/printer availability and operations. * Build and print routes for drivers on a daily basis, including but not limited to shipping documents, route sheets, barcode labels. * Dispatch drivers for extra or missed pick-ups. * Reviews driver's paperwork (VCR and log book) and files paperwork. * Review and updates routes, new customers based on daily communication, reroutes existing customers as required. * Debrief drivers in accordance with written SOP's. * Complete consolidated manifests for trailer shipments. * Ensures that routes are balanced and accepted in BSA on a daily basis. * Forwards VCR (Vehicle Condition Report) reports to Transportation Supervisor/Manager for maintenance request. * Assists drivers with problems/issues as issues arise (during the day or at the end of the route). * Prepares reviews and stamps all manifests. * Assists Trans Supervisor/Manager as needed/directed. * Download PDTs from previous night * Handle 3rd Party Hauler paperwork * Handle APHIS paperwork * Check STARS Customer Site Status Report daily * PDT maintenance and repair Team Member Development: * Communicate performance standards and objectives. * Monitors operations and work of all route Team Members. * Keeps staff informed of current problems, changes, and new developments in the department and company by conducting professional, organized, and participative meetings. Compliance: * Track and input DOT hours/ JJ Keller. * Monitors Company policies and procedures, communicate to staff, as necessary. * Maintains a safe and compliant workplace at all times * In the absence of a manager/supervisor, monitor and ensure that employees are performing their functions safely and productively. Make recommendations for changes or improvement, when necessary, in order to prevent accident or injuries. * Oversee and participate in the maintenance of Driver Qualification Files, DOT Log Files and Vehicle Condition Reports for all drivers and equipment. Ensure DQF, DOT Logs and VCR logs are accurate and complete; must maintain DOT files. Stericycle Nashville TN
