There are two Disney Experiences Executive Communications internship openings. One intern will be supporting the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL and the other intern will be supporting the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. These are both full-time internship opportunities for a duration of six months starting in June 2024 through the beginning of January 2025.
Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort are each looking for a creative, dynamic communicator to support the Communications & Public Affairs department and the Executive Communications team. This position will primarily support with the development of graphics, social media content, presentation templates and other assets as needed by the team. We are looking for innovative individuals to join the teams of collaborators responsible for shaping the reputation of each resort.
As an Executive Communications & Public Affairs Intern, you'll have the opportunity to:
Contribute to the development of executive communication strategies
Develop and design creative visuals for PowerPoint/Keynote presentations
Film and edit videos for social media channels
Design graphics as needed for Communications & Public Affairs team
Collaborate with Communications & Public Affairs team to help ensure we tell our stories in the most innovative and creative ways
Build relationships with partners locally and across the company to amplify our message
Support the planning and execution of executive communications programs and events
Assist with preparation, communication, and facilitation of executive communications presentations
Assist with coordinating and supporting ongoing executive engagement tactics
Create and update various forms of written communication, such as scripts and correspondence
General administrative support
Demonstrate passion and dedication to diversity and inclusion including inviting diverse perspectives, fostering an inclusive work environment, and supporting workforce diversity
Required Qualifications & Skills
Professional demeanor and poise to work with the most senior leaders at the Walt Disney World Resort and the Disneyland Resort
An ability to tell effective stories, visually and verbally
Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Ability to work independently, as well as within a team environment
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Effective collaboration and integration skills
Project management skills that can shape the overall vision of a project with key partners to deliver results
Thrive on building new relationships and carefully fostering existing ones
A quick learner who enjoys taking on new challenges big and small
Able to safeguard confidential information
Ability to develop effective communications with minimal editing
Ability to create visually compelling presentations with Canva, Apple Keynote, and/or Microsoft PowerPoint
Demonstrated proficiency in design and photo editing/experience with Adobe Creative Suite
Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro or other video editing software
Expertise in capturing and editing content for social media including Instagram and LinkedIn
Experience on both Mac and Windows operating systems, with high expertise in Mac
Willingness to learn new software applications
Available to work evenings and weekends when needed
Preferred Qualifications
Previous Disney experience with knowledge of Walt Disney World property and products
Experience with public speaking and sharing professional presentations
Experience in crafting and organizing events
Social Media planning experience
Previous experience supporting executives or public figures (e.g. local government officials)
Knowledge of HTML
Experience with Microsoft Teams and Zoom video conferencing and webinar applications

Required Education
Eligibility Requirements
Enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
Be at least 18 years of age
Not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Alignment with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
This internship is a hybrid position
Be able to work FULL TIME hours (approximately 40 per week) for the duration of the six-month internship
Be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
