Program Supervisor IPerforms routine administrative and supervisory work. Work involves assisting in establishing program goals and objectives, assisting in developing program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations, assisting in developing schedules, priorities, and standards for achieving program goals, and assisting in evaluating program activities.

Supervises the work of others. Oversees the confirmation and authorization of payment; the creation and maintenance of an accurate database for consultative exams, medical evidence of record, travel, language interpreters, and other services directly related to claims determination in accordance with the State of Texas Prompt Payment Act. Work involves coordinating or overseeing administrative operations of the agency or division.

Directly supervises the work of PPC and VDM Technical Leaders and assists in planning, preparing, or overseeing the preparation of reports. Provides management oversight for approximately 25-30 PPC staff and 10 VDM staff. Develops administrative procedures, standards, and methods, and prepares technical aspects of manuals and publications.

Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. DDS employees perform all business functions for SSA, using the federal SSA network and equipment. Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD)-12 security clearance is required.Essential Job Functions:

Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates PPC and VDM activities to ensure that DDS objectives are achieved.Supervises the work of PPC and VDM staff and completes/conducts career ladder/ merit raises/performance evaluations for all VDM employees.Establishes standards for customer-focused communication and coordination within areas of responsibility and with all internal and external associates and customers".Serves as PPC and VDM subject matter expert, provides technical guidance, and consults with the DRM Manager and/or Director as requested.Assists in the development of program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules and regulations, and monitors compliance with policies and procedures.Prepares and reviews reports on the effectiveness of PPC and VDM program activities, and assists in the preparation of training and operation manuals, educational materials, and information programs.Assists in conducting special investigations, program analyses, and research studies.Provides training or technical assistance in the PPC and VDM program area.Knowledge Skills Abilities:


Extensive knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations relevant to the program area including the State of Texas Prompt Payment Act.Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration and management.Knowledge of the principles and practices of high volume workload management.Knowledge of the case management system software (SSA Production Software) or a comparable production system.Skill in establishing goals and objectives and devising solutions to administrative problems.Skill in developing and evaluating administrative policies and procedures.Ability to lead others to meet established goals and objectives.Ability to plan, assign, prioritize, and supervise the work of others.Ability to write and edit proposals, performance evaluations, standard operating procedures, and prepare concise reports.Ability to supervise others.Registration or Licensure
