Expected starting wage range is $76,253.06 - $94,178.24. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Disability Management Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Workers' Compensation Program and oversees the third-party administrators' management of Telecare's workers' compensation claims. The Disability Management Administrator works closely with HR, Leadership and Staff to provide training, claim reporting guidance, and claim status updates. The Disability Management Administrator interprets Labor Code regulations and the appropriate application for occupational injuries/illnesses. Assists with the development, implementation, and maintenance of initiatives, strategies, training, and education programs to control the costs of Telecare's Workers' Compensation program.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related business field and two{2) years' experience as an HR Generalist with emphasis in leave or disability management; OR five (5) years' experience as an HR Generalist with emphasis in leave or disability management and current HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, CPDM, CLMS and/or extensive knowledge of the leave requirements and other legal protections afforded by the FMLA, ADA, and other applicable laws.

  • Five (5) years of experience in workers' compensation claims management for an insurance carrier, claims administrator, or self-insured organization.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software

  • Applicant must be fingerprinted and receive clearance from the Department of Justice

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • All opportunities at Telecare are contingent upon successful completion and receipt of acceptable results of the applicable post-offer physical examination, 2-step PPD test for tuberculosis, acceptable criminal background clearances, excluded party sanctions, and degree or license verification. If the position requires driving, a valid driver license, a motor vehicle clearance, and proof of auto insurance is required at time of employment and must be maintained throughout employment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Demonstrate the Telecare mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders

  • Ensures cost effective case management of Telecare's Workers' Compensation program by providing oversight and direction; ensures that claims are handled expeditiously, fairly, and cost effectively (e.g., assist in determining first aid injuries versus reportable claims, utilization review, medical treatment referrals)

  • Provides claims administrative oversight and direction to claims administrators, claims examiners, and attorneys handling Telecare's Workers' Compensation claims.

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for workers' compensation related inquiries with employees, managers/administrators, HR partners, and third-party vendors.

  • Counsels and guides employees and leaders regarding workers' compensation related leave of absence and/or accommodation. Educate employees regarding benefits and pay continuation, if applicable

  • Ensures that all Service Level Agreements (SLA) are met by utilizing effective communication, customer service, and management skills along with efficient, timely, and accurate guidance and delivery.

  • Partners with third-party vendors, HR partners, and programs to ensure HR system of record requirements are updated in accordance with all workers' compensation, leave, and/or accommodation policies and documentation is maintained and current for associated employee leaves.

  • Provides training and guidance to Telecare leaders to ensure accurate and timely reporting of all work-related injuries/illnesses.

  • Maintains the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of sensitive company and employee data.

  • Partners with regional HR partners to ensure each Program follows WC and Labor Law postings.

  • Contacts medical office to obtain appointment information and verify work status, as necessary.

  • Evaluates settlement requests for appropriateness and cost effectiveness with the Risk and Disability Management Director to ensure compliance with overall cost strategies.

  • Partners with Safety team and Program leaders in analyzing workers' compensation injuries trend and developing cost reduction action plans.

  • Coordinates and facilitates quarterly claim reviews with program leaders and workers' compensation third party workers' compensation administrator.

  • Prepares quarterly trend reports for senior leadership.

  • Assess training needs related to injury reporting, claims administration, and workers' compensation cost containment strategy.

  • Responsible for updating workers' compensation policy and/or procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and perform simple grasping tasks, they are occasionally required to bend, squat, and lift and carry items weighing 10 pounds or less as well as to walk twist, reach and do hand/wrist repetitions. The position requires manual deviation, repetition and dexterity and to occasionally drive and be exposed to uneven walking ground as well as Hazardous Exposure (Blood Borne Pathogens, Hospital Waste, Chemical & Infectious). Visual requirements include computers and books exposure.
