Disability Benefits Quality Control Analysts

These are full-time positions(40 hours per week) with State Benefits, including health insurance, paid vacation, paid sick time, paid holidays, as well as retirement.
Recruitment range: $38,516 - $55,209
Disability Benefits Quality Control Analysts conduct quality control activities for processes performed in the Disability Benefits Programs for the State's public pension plans, including the Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System (TSERS), the Local Governmental Employees' Retirement System (LGERS), and several other smaller plans serving public employees.
Duties
Provide Quality Control for processes performed in the disability section
Process annual Statements of Income
Review all disability and refund calculations
Monitor workflow including turnaround time and error rates with supervision
Provide group and one-on-one training sessions with staff under the direction of supervision Perform case management through to payment made
Retirement Systems Division
The Retirement Systems Division administers the statutory retirement and fringe benefit plans as authorized by the General Assembly of North Carolina. These include the following eight major retirement plans: Teachers and State Employees Retirement System (TSERS), Teachers' and State Employees' Retirement System for Law Enforcement Officers (TSERS LEO), the Local Government Employees Retirement System (LGERS), Local Governmental Employees' Retirement System for Law Enforcement Officers (LGERS LEO), the Legislative Retirement System (LRS), the Consolidated Judicial Retirement System (CJRS), the Optional Retirement Program (ORP), and the Fire and Rescue Pension Fund.
The Benefits Processing Section is responsible for processing death benefits; applications for disability benefits and applications for the return of contributions.
Qualified applicants must possess, and application must clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:
Demonstrated ability to research complex statutes and apply disability law
Demonstrated ability to research, collect data, and analyze for report writing
Demonstrated ability to train and coach others in complex subject matter
Demonstrated ability to interpret guidelines and answer inquiries from staff, members, and employers
Demonstrated ability to perform benefits calculations
Experience using electronic systems to process work

Bachelor's degree from appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
