Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Translational scientist to build and lead the translational efforts for the organization as our portfolio transitions from Discovery, through IND and into the clinic. Reporting to Senior Vice President of Biology, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing clinical biomarker activities to support development stage programs in inflammatory diseases. The successful candidate will have prior therapeutic area and clinical development experience in biotech / pharma organizations interacting with project teams, clinical research physicians, and contract research organizations to deliver impactful science to our clinical programs.
Responsibilities
Designs and implements program-specific biomarker / translational plans, including preparing clinical protocols, SOWs, lab manual, and interfacing with CRO service partners
Ensure appropriate collection and timely analysis and reporting of final biomarker data
Identifies appropriate assays and vendors for clinical biomarkers, and manages outsourcing of biomarker assay development and validation.
Manages clinical biomarker data delivery and analysis to agreed program timeline
Drives the dissemination of the translational / biomarker data via internal and external communication
Supports regulatory submissions and regulatory interactions
Provides expert guidance to multi-disciplinary teams and the wider company
Helps design operational strategies and creates a culture of continuous improvement
Identifies, onboards and manages CRO partners.
Qualifications
Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in the Life Sciences:
6+ years of drug discovery experience, with project leadership a significant advantage
Immunology expert with skills, theoretical knowledge and experience to address complex scientific problems
Candidate must be a rigorous, detail-oriented scientist, with excellent record keeping and organizational skills
A highly flexible, results oriented, self-starter who enjoys a fast paced dynamic environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Accurate and detailed record keeping
Further Information:
Salary range: $210,000 - $260,000
