POSITION SUMMARY:

This is a SENIOR managerial position with full responsibility and accountability for leading and managing the research and analysis of North American markets in the pharmaceutical industry on our key SUBLOCADE Brand. The role is responsible for managing the primary and secondary qualitative and quantitative data gathering as well as managing the significant internal data sources and analysis.

This position leads the planning, design, and implementation of market research and competitive intelligence initiatives to assess business opportunities and validate key assumptions. The position holder will lead the integration of disparate pieces of information into a cohesive understanding of the business issue to support enhanced business decision-making. He/she will lead and manage cross-functional projects involving marketing, sales, strategy and corporate development and will manage the delivery of strategic, collective, in-depth market insights and recommendations to key, high-level internal stakeholders in various North American functions to assist in enabling informed strategic and operational decisions through his/her team.

This position is also then responsible for disseminating the complex analysis of all our internal analytical data to our internal business partners, primarily the Sales and Account management teams. This analysis forms the basis of the Field Forces Activities throughout the year setting clear targets and goals, reporting on these goals and addressing any issues and identifying any corrective actions that may need to be adopted as we progress through the year

In this role, the position holder will have budgetary authority over a multi-million annual budget and will supervise a number of third-party contractors and vendors who provide marketing/media analysis and creative work, including IMS, Quintiles, Source Healthcare, Ogilvy, CAP Insights, Medi Media Market Research, Double Helix and Versa.

This position reports directly to the VP of Market Analytics and Insights, and will directly supervise a team comprising of a Assoc Director, Business Analytics and a Business Analyst.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead Primary Market Research Projects from start to finish, including dissemination of results in a way that impacts the business.

  • Challenge thinking of others (from sales reps to senior management), based on data and other information available

  • Utilize multiple data sources to help determine strategy from local and short-term to global and long-term

  • Sizing of future opportunities (new segments, markets and categories).

  • Generate applicable KPIs for the commercial team to measure performance

  • Direct the team and key vendors / contractors to create and maintain dashboards and other tools as needed for different business audiences to monitor and plan business effectively,

  • Respond to queries and provide analytics guidance to others.

  • Ensure harmonized operational approach and compliance with local and regional regulatory requirements.

  • Provide training and support as needed to field and other team members on the use of dashboards and other tools.

  • Travel domestically minimum 6 times per year for up to 1 week per trip.

  • Tools used: Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Veeva and Salesforce

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent degree accepted) required with any post-degree qualification in relevant subject preferred

  • 15 years of market research and business analytics experience.

  • Include experience in multiple fields, including healthcare, multiple geographies and both agency and client side

  • Primary market research, utilizing sales data and developing strategies

  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Understanding of new technologies in AI and Data mining
