Our product management team is looking for an experienced product leader who is excited about defining a technology experience that enables Flatiron to improve cancer care. The successful candidate will own the technical roadmap for improving the architecture, scalability, performance, and reliability of our cloud infrastructure, crafting a developer experience that defines how Flatiron Engineers continue to innovate and scale. This job requires a sharp analytical mind, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for taking on some of the most complex challenges of our time.


  • Own aligning our business strategy and metrics with our product development efforts and leading our TechOps teams from design through successful rollout.

  • Lead scrums for a broad range of talented colleagues, including software developers, site reliability engineers (SRE), and system engineers to build products that ensure the reliability of products we provide to improve cancer care across the country

  • Manage and drive software projects with high technical risk and high coordination complexity.

  • Create detailed road maps, prioritize relentlessly, and communicate trade-offs internally.

  • Identify and fix process gaps around execution, roll-out, and ongoing support of software projects.

  • Communicate and evangelize the value of technical infrastructure to the business stakeholders.


  • Substantial experience in a product management or similar role in a software, SaaS, or systems development environment

  • BA/BS degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience

  • Strong project management skills and excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Strong understanding of software projects' development, roll-out, and support risks

  • Strong technical aptitude and an ability to understand technical designs, challenges, and risks

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Bonus points:

  • Experience as a software engineer, SRE, or IT operations.

  • BA/BS in computer science

  • Past experience with creating and scaling technical infrastructure.

More information is available at Role Summary The Manager Technical Operations is responsible for the daily event operation of Madison Square Garden's venues: The Arena, the Theater, and the Expo Center. The manager is to oversee the installation, operation and maintenance of the arena and theater sound systems, facility A/V, interior and exterior LED video boards, architectural lighting, entertainment lighting, sports scoring and timing, and all event-related activities across multiple disciplines. Additionally, the position is responsible for overseeing the unionized workforce and outside contractors necessary for the maintenance, operation and repair of these systems. The Manager Technical Operations will interface with the NY Knicks, NY Rangers, MSG Networks as well as other clients as necessary to ensure the highest quality of service. The manager will work with the Director Technical Operations, Managers of Technical Operations, VP Building Operations, Director Electrical and Engineering, GardenVision staff, NY Knicks and NY Rangers Event Presentation, and the Event Production Department to prioritize daily event needs and orchestrate activities to maximize labor productivity. This position includes being in rotation as the Manager on Duty and Technical Operations on Duty for events in both the arena and theater. The Manager on Duty is the sole representative responsible for Building Operations during the event, which includes supervising an event staff of over 50 unionized employees made up of electricians, laborers, carpenters, painters, engineers and custodians. The Technical Operations on Duty will provide support to arena staff on AV and technical systems. The Manager of Technical Operations will directly interface with other company representatives as well as company SVP & EVP's if issues or questions arise during the event. Specific Functions/Activities Summary * Responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing preventive maintenance programs for all facility systems including Arena and Theater sound systems, RF frequency coordination, Crestron AV, microphones, intercoms, sports scoring and timing, and related systems. This includes internal labor requirements, ordering and tracking of spare parts, engaging outside vendors as necessary and generating SOP's as needed. * At direction of Dir. Technical Operations, schedule and direct both F/T and P/T electricians for all maintenance and event related set-up/operation/break-down. * Work closely with other departments including MSG Event Production and Building Operations to coordinate repairs and maintenance on systems to avoid impact to events. * Responsible to maintain a first-class operation, delivering superior service to internal and external clients. Attend necessary training, and proactively spearhead initiatives that facilitate equipment redundancy and minimize downtime. * Through constant evaluation of technology, training and manpower, work with the Director Technical Operations to continuously improve the quality of the AV presentation systems ensuring the highest client satisfaction and guest experience. * Assist the Director Technical Operations with the planning and oversight of capital projects for sound system, A/V Systems, scoring and timing, and electronic systems. * Considers budget as it relates to repairs, maintenance and operation of electrical, scoring, electronic and AV systems, and make recommendations based on efficiency and best practices. * Highly responsive to emergencies in a fast paced, time sensitive environment; able to effectively troubleshoot problems while making solutions-oriented decisions and communicate processes and results to stakeholders. * Manager on Duty for Building Operations during events in both the Arena and Theater as sole representative for the department handling direction of the staff, handling building related issues as well as questions from Senior Staff attending the events. * Responsible and accountable for the operation and maintenance of MSG's technical systems including but not limited to: * Arena and Theater Sound System * Building Wide Wireless Microphones * Digital Sound Board Operation * GrandMA2 Lighting Board Programming * Scoring and statistical systems (Daktronics, Genius, HITS) * Crestron/AV Spaces (Restaurants/public areas/suites/locker rooms) * Intercom system (Riedel and Clearcom) * RF Frequency Coordination * Maintaining Service Agreements * LED Scoreboard, Ribbon and Matrix Board Display Systems * 2way Radios and repeaters * Exterior LED Video Screens * Sport Lighting System * Concert Sound Delays * Building Lighting Control System * Distributed Antenna Systems Qualifications * 7+ years of progressive experience in facility management, supervising personnel, operation and maintenance of arena scoring and AV systems, event presentation, and dealing with concurrent events in a time sensitive environment. * Ability to demonstrate success in managing multiple tasks while under tight deadlines and meeting financial benchmarks. * Strong technical knowledge of audio systems (EAW, BSS, QSYS), arena scoring and timing systems (Daktronics, Tissot, Genius, HITS), soundboard operation (Yamaha), audio distribution, intercom systems (Riedel, ClearCom), and A/V systems (Crestron). Working technical knowledge of lighting control systems (ETC) and IPTV Systems (Imagine). * Leadership ability that can provide guidance across multiple functions and labor groups (union management experience desired) * Excellent communication skills with staff in all levels of the organization and the ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner. * Commitment to providing a high-quality service experience for both internal and external clients. * Ability to effectively lead troubleshoot technical systems with union staff in a timely manner, as well as deescalate conflicts as they arise.
