Shield is a commercial stage specialty pharmaceutical company with a focus on addressing iron deficiency with its lead product Accrufer/Feraccru (ferric maltol). The Group has launched Accrufer in the US. Feraccru is commercialized in the UK and European Union by Norgine B.V., who also have the marketing rights in Australia and New Zealand. Shield also has an exclusive license agreement with Beijing Aosaikang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., for the development and commercialization of Accrufer / Feraccru in China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, with Korea Pharma Co., Ltd. in the Republic of Korea, and with KYE Pharmaceuticals Inc. in Canada.

Accrufer/Feraccru (ferric maltol) is a novel, stable, non-salt based oral therapy for adults with iron deficiency, with or without anemia. Accrufer/Feraccru has a novel mechanism of action compared to other oral iron therapies and has been shown to be an efficacious and well-tolerated therapy in a range of clinical trials. Core Accountabilities

  • Lead the development and integration of commercial insights and analytics to monitor brand performance, support business strategy and improve customer experience.

  • Collaborate and partner with Senior Leaders across both Shield and Viatris (co-promote partner), including Marketing, Market Access, Sales, Regulatory, Compliance, and Finance to support the achievement of strategies, key objectives and business needs in a compliant way.

  • Define an insights generation plan integrating all available data sources to determine opportunities across the business and to anticipate brand and market challenges.

  • Champion the evolution of data practices, ensuring they support scalable, efficient, and effective data management and analysis. Establish and enforce high standards for data quality, governance, and security.

  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to monitor and communicate commercial operations performance to senior leadership.

  • Partner with Marketing and Sales to develop omnichannel engagement strategies by analyzing current brand performance, market dynamics, marketing and sales operations analytics, and sales force efficiency to optimize brand results.

  • Partner with the commercial organization to translate pharmacy and distribution analytics and insights into revenue-producing strategies and tactics.

  • Play a key role in preparation of and during the Quarterly Business Reviews and Monthly Business Reviews

  • Lead quantitative and qualitative market research projects to support brand strategy, vendor selection, execution and presentation

  • Work closely with both Commercial and Finance leadership to build, analyze, and communicate accurate short-term and long-range demand and revenue forecasts

  • Define long-term commercial analytics and platform strategy, including:

  • Implement, maintain, and continually improve BI platform and "big data" analytics processes as needed

  • Lead continual improvement of data, data environment, and associated reporting that will keep the trust of the organization

  • Display a high degree of creativity and innovation in problem-solving, proactively developing new approaches, processes, and methodologies to maintain consistent and reliable commercial operations

  • Value Delivery through AI and Automation. Drive initiatives that leverage AI, machine learning, and automation to enhance decision-making, optimize operations, and deliver actionable insights. Ensure that these initiatives translate into tangible value for Shield, enhancing capabilities to advance our commercial solutions.

Required Skills & Experiences

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related subject area.

  • A minimum of 7 years of combined relevant business experience in commercial analytics, pharmaceutical analytics, and/or management consulting

  • A minimum of 2 years leading a Commercial Analytics function, preferably within a small, life sciences company.

  • Excellent working knowledge in defining data management capabilities and creating infrastructure and guidance for data governance.

  • Experience with field force analytics, including customer segmentation, targeting, and promotional response measurements.

  • Strong knowledge of secondary data sources including syndicated sales, promotional & marketing data, longitudinal patient level data, EMR, payer data, and pharmacy / trade data.

  • Deep experience in building forecasting models

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, demonstrated project and people management capabilities.

  • Analytical skills: SQL, R, SAS, or Python, Microsoft Excel

  • Data visualization skills: PowerBI, Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Strong understanding of a retail distribution model, digital cloud pharmacy experience a plus

  • Strong knowledge of descriptive and predictive statistics
