Wiley University is seeking a Director of Career Exploration and Readiness who has a passion for empowering students and helping them to navigate their career journeys. Candidate must be up-to-date with the latest trends in the job market, have a knack for building strong relationships with employers, and is excitement for future opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized career coaching and guidance to students, including resume reviews, interview preparation, and job search strategies.

  • Organize and host career development workshops, networking events, and job fairs to enhance students' professional skills and connections.

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers, industry partners, and alumni to create internship and job opportunities for students.

  • Work closely with the Division of Academic Affairs and Strategic Retention to ensure degree-plans align with employer requirements.

  • Partner with the Office of Student Success and Strategic Retention and faculty to align career advising and academic advising

  • Collaborate with academic advisors, faculty members, and student organizations to integrate career readiness initiatives into the curriculum and campus life.

  • Stay informed about current trends in the job market, industry demands, and best practices in career services to continuously improve our programs and offerings.

  • Track and report on key metrics and outcomes related to student engagement, employment placement, and career advancement.

  • Create MOUs with graduate and professional schools.

  • Advise at least one student organization.

  • Monitor and report on the Office of Career Readiness and Exploration's purview in the University's Strategic Plan.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred in counseling, higher education, human resources, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in career services, recruitment, talent development, or a related area.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with diverse populations, including students, faculty, employers, and community stakeholders.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to deliver engaging presentations and workshops.

  • Knowledge of career assessment tools, job search platforms, and technology resources to support career development initiatives.

  • A proactive and creative approach to problem-solving, with a passion for helping others achieve their goals.
